Todd and I are finished! I've never been more miserable in my life. It all started when I found a letter on his desk from a girl in Vermont. It sounded more than friendly, if you know what I mean. I should trust Todd, but he didn't make things better by getting mad at me for being a snoop (as he put it).
I know what you're thinking, Diary. I have no right to complain. When Todd was gone, I let Nicholas Morrow kiss me. I even fell in love with Jeffrey French. But Todd doesn't know the worst. Only you, Diary, know the true story of what happened between Todd's best friend, Ken Matthews, and me.
Read all about Elizabeth's steamy affair in this special edition featuring classic moments from Sweet Valley High books 20 to 30. The first volume of Elizabeth's tantalizing secret diaries.
Francine Paula Pascal was an American author best known for her Sweet Valley series of young adult novels. Sweet Valley High, the backbone of the collection, was made into a television series, which led to several spin-offs, including The Unicorn Club and Sweet Valley University. Although most of these books were published in the 1980s and 1990s, they remained so popular that several titles were re-released decades later.
Well, this was pretty lame. Her "steamy affair" with Ken Matthews lasted all of twenty pages. But she is a lot sassier in her diary than in person, so at least there's that.
I became a Sweet Valley fan around age 10 or 11 and while I read some of the regular series books, these Secret Diaries and the other magna editions were my favorites. The drama was over the top when reading about it in a "greatest hits" format like this. This was such fun to reread.
Even as a kid I thought it was odd that Elizabeth had the stereotype of being the faithful one-man-woman when all she did was serially cheat on her long-term boyfriends. At least Jessica was honest and just played the field without making any bones about what she was up to.
I'm not going to rate this book - as I'm not it's intended audience and when I originally read it all those years ago I would definately rated it so much higher than today.
When I started my first thought was, I can't believe I read so many of these books. Its like reading a soap opera - almost every page has someone crying, its all about boys and its so melodramtic!
This particular book was the diray behind books 20-30, and it was good to pick up the different pieces of story that I would have read in those oringinal numbers.
The one question I still have (and I know a college series was also written) is did Elizabeth and Todd ever get married?????

This book was kinda confusing at the epilogue because I thought that everything that happened in the diary was happening at that moment. But I figured it out in the end. It had the perfect amount of action, heartbreak, and love... This book is definitely good for girls that want to read very well rounded book.
