In a media culture saturated with remakes and retellings, its nice to see there are still some people who can make an old story like Beauty And The Beast feel new and fresh.

I loved The Bride, and I can't wait to see more from Kacie Taylor.

A friend gave me her tablet to read this, if I didn't have a wedding to go to I would have finished it that same day.
The unique twist is so different it took me a while to figure out it was beauty and the beast. Amazing read, I don't know why I don't have my own copy.

This is an interesting take on the Beauty and the Beast story. It gets pretty gripping in the middle (I stayed up way too late reading it so it is definitely a page-turner) but it starts off kind of slow, and the characters need a little more development. I found the story somewhat predictable, but it didn’t stop me from getting engrossed in it, so I gave it a 4 star.

The similarities to Beauty and the Beast however, are obvious, but if you look past that, you’ll enjoy the story. The heroine needs more work—she has less dimension than the King and some of the other characters, there isn’t much of interest about her personally. A little more detail about her likes/dislikes, thoughts, dreams, would have strengthened this story quite a bit. Having said all that, if you’re a teenage girl with any romance at all in your heart, you’ll get caught up in this story. There’s a bit of danger and intrigue, and the love story is pretty solid and sweet.

I read The Bride in two days as I found it difficult to put down. The story starts with an ominous choosing ceremony, where Callia, the main character is chosen to be the next bride for the King. Hundreds of brides have been taken to the King before but all of them have ended up dead so as a reader you are intrigued to find out what will happen to Callia. The story is in fact a twist on Beauty and the Beast but for adults. I am a big fan of paranormal romance and this book is somewhere between that genre and a fairytale, which makes it a compelling read.

I just love fairy tale retellings, and this is a great one. This author knows how to tell a great story and keep you turning pages. Her style is distinct and fresh. The story itself is a unique take on Beauty and the Beast. While the original tale remains clear, the author's take on it is very original and intriguing. The very first paragraph had me wondering what would happen next, and the tenseness never let up. A definite must-read for all fans of fairy tales and retellings!

A good read

I really got into this book right away. I liked how this book kind of reminds you of the story Beauty and the Beast, but it tells it in a way that keeps for reading till the very end.
