I think that I may be part of the wrong audience for this book for the most part I found it just stating the obvious Xbrl is a reporting language for business systems. Ok, it did have more detail from the book you are introduced to contexts, concepts and aspects. However, I didn’t get the level technical understanding that I was looking for. For various reasons I would like to be able to parse an instance and relate it to taxonomies and linkbases. I just started reading the Xbrl book (updated for 2023) and I believe that I’m starting to get the understanding that I want. I have also found the free courses at Xbrl.org informative. If you are a technical person, this probably isn’t the book for you. Grisham fourney author of the Xbrl book, seems to hold Charles Hoffman in high regard, he is definitely knowledgeable in the subject
