As space commissioner, Sally Buds presides over a colonial war with Baltan City, a space colony. But a ship from the future is approaching and Sally must investigate. The ill-fated future mission uses an engine that folds space. The crew is alive, but they've been in transit for 1300 years. There's more at stake than one ship, and Sally must decide the fate of thousands of people across time.
This was the first book I read from this author. I really enjoyed it! I was unaware that this was a book in a series. It didn't feel like I was missing out on any information that may have been previously offered in the preceding books. So I recommend this as a great stand alone book. I am finishing this review now after having read the other books of the series. This book, and "Splashdown" are my two favorite books of the series for completely different reasons.
The approach this book takes to space travel, the technology used, and the interactions the characters had with one another made it had to put down.
it's definitely a good sci-fi, but… why does it have to be so… can't really say «boring», but omfg it's slow and thick, like a sap… i'm not sure i can take the next part of the series now, need something more action-driven first.
