Initially, I chose this book because it was from Japan - or the tale was - and that is extremely unusual to find. However, I found myself truly enjoying the tale - although a little rough around the edges - the tale of courage and friendship are really good for every reader to learn or read about. It teaches lessons while you're reading the book and for that reason I found myself enjoying it quite a bit more than I would have enjoyed a regular picture storybook.
