Whether you're searching in a grandparent's attic or through the most cryptic archiving systems, this book has brand-new chapters on what readers have been asking Chock-full of tips the competitors don't have, this is the one-stop resource for successful sleuthing!
This book is well organized and takes the time to explain the different concepts and needs of the beginner when starting the family tree organization and search. I was very fascinated with chapter 20 on “uncovering your genetic roots.” As it may not be as specific as you assume.
Keep in mind no book can really be “everything” on a subject. However, this one is a great addition to your repertoire. I am using it in conjunction with “Family Tree Maker 2011 Deluxe” by Nova Development US.
Packed full of information to get a beginning family historian/genealogist started on their research, but lacks images, charts, and other visual examples that help illuminate the subject to beginners.
Great book for the beginner and and even the intermediate family historian. Laid out in a very organized and logical manner. Lots of "go to" references for research and also addresses organization and storage.
