Beginners contains over 100 original, ready-to-use activities for beginners' classes. These include activities for both absolute and 'false' beginners, and a section for use with learners unfamiliar with the Roman alphabet.
Peter Grundy has taught in schools and worked in teacher training and higher education. He is author of several resource books for teachers and has a developed interest in pragmatics. He also likes horses, and would be pleased to go the races with anyone sharing a similar passion.
Although there is the occasional idea in here which I feel I could use with my students, this book now feels very dated. There seem to be lots of assumptions about how much you might be able to explain to your students, and the fairly frequent comment that certain activities can only be done with native speakers also marks this out as a book of its time. Definitely needs an update.
