This book was very helpful to me, as I am preparing myself on how to efficiently keep kids of all ages entertained when I am babysitting for them. This book gave me all kinds of ideas for keeping kids busy and having fun. Hopefully the kids I sit for will have more fun with me now! Thanks to this book, my babysitting skill are better now.

A beginner’s guide to the “how-tos” of babysitting, this basic title includes tips on meal times, diaper-changing, child safety, dealing with misbehavior, and more. While far from a complete manual, this is a good introduction to what a new babysitter can expect. Insets highlighting important things to know and simple solutions to common problems accompany sharp color photos. Additional resources are listed beside the glossary and more helpful tips. This is a good choice for upper elementary libraries.

This is a great beginning information book on a very practical topic. The chapters are short and include several photos as well as some Helpful Hints. What Would You Do? questions get readers thinking so future babysitters can be prepared for difficult situations that might arise. There is both a table of contents and an index, as well as a list of internet sites and other books if the reader would like more information.
This is just one of the books in the Babysitting Set and it would probably be helpful to read the other ones, especially the one on Safety.
