This was an informative book in spite of how old it is.
1) The writing style is not modern so may be difficult for some to follow.
2) While the examples of British Israelism are old they get recycled every so often so are still somewhat relevant.
3) The strength of the book is the scriptural evidence that the author presents to show that the Ten Tribes are not lost but were incorporated into Judah during the division and later in the diaspora.

"But the reader may judge for himself of the method of this writer, who is a "D.D.," in handling Scripture"
David Baron author of The history ten "lost"tribes

David Baron's expertise in History and scripture for his time is evident here as He addresses an erroneous belief of his day that England replaced ancient Israel naturally and spiritually which he addresses quite well although whether one agrees with how Doctor Baron writes his argument, his approach towards the error, or towards those who believed in it nevertheless his dissertation is on point as he uses history and scripture to refute this popular theological theory with again the available knowledge of his day and time because
1 no one could forsee Israel's
return to a globally recognized nation at that time

2 Also since the book was published in 1915 there has been a vast gain in knowledge certainly in Biblical Archeology,Genetic Identification and other academic fields which now could easily correct this belief
Still even with his dated information, antiquated aproach and abrasive style, Dr David Baron delivers a very good read

The History of the Ten Lost Tribes Anglo Israelism Examined

The History of the Ten Lost Tribes by David Bacon, to me, is not history, at all. I believe that the author has a very active imagination.

Not Reliable: he picked and chose weak arguments ...

I read this book to get a look at the other side of this claim. First, the author is Jewish, and this is a reprint from I believe almost a century ago. He attacked British-Israel with half truths and NUMEROUS insults, even referring to anyone who believes in it to be incompetent and dumb.
I've studied Christian - Identity for over 19 years, and although British-Israelism is different from C.I. , they both hold some of the same beliefs. British-Israel was started and founded by a Jew ish man , Christian-Identity was not. So, basically this book, the impression I got was this was very poorly written, and David Baron, was NOT writing in a respectable, knowledgeable way. He left out hundreds upon hundreds of marks within the Bible that describe God's true chosen people.

The author was very thorough in his documentation concerning the supposed 'Lost Tribes'. The materials used by him showed how former writers used and abused certain sources. The myths and half truths that have come done through the ages as 'fact' where often wishful thinking or out right lies to support some one else's theory. The tribes had been disbursed as had been foretold and in many cases sort of absorbed each other. The individual tribes where blended and became a melting pot and instead of being from this tribe or tribe they became Jews.

One of the best books you could read on the subject of the lost tribes of Israel. Baron shows that the idea of "lost" tribes is really legendary and is not based in reality nor in a careful understanding of Scripture. This is an important book, and I highly recommended it for all.
