I really enjoyed both light novels. Both being equal in quality. It's always interesting for me to read a story in a different medium (here: manga to book), as the shift in perspective can enhance the whole world for me. The books' focus on lesser-showcased characters and fleshing out the whole setting for me was appreciated a lot. I love Lotton. Also the setting really works well with Urobuchi's interests and way of writing stories. It's cool to see him having a lot of fun here.
