New Yorker Julia--beautiful, wealthy, and recently widowed--surrounded by suitors, falls victim to the Depression and wonders how she will make ends meet
The author glossed so much over the events in the book that I didn't give two shits when four people died. The author also reeeaaaally loves her deus ex machina, except instead of saving the situation, her characters' lives get so much shittier.
Basically a book about spoiled, rich people in New York and the reversal of their fortunes during the Great Depression.
