Gene Edwards is one of America's most beloved Christian authors. He has published over 25 best-selling books, and his signature work, "The Divine Romance," has been called a masterpiece of Christian literature. He has written biblical fiction covering nearly the entire Bible, with titles that include the following: "The Beginning," "The Escape," "The Birth," "The Divine Romance," "The Triumph," "Revolution," "The Silas Diary," "The Titus Diary," "The Timothy Diary," "The Priscilla Diary," "The Gaius Diary," and "The Return."
Gene grew up in the East Texas oil fields and entered college at the age of 15. He graduated from East Texas State University at 18 with a bachelor's degree in English history and received his M.Div. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Gene is part of the house-church movement, and he travels extensively to aid Christians as they begin meeting in homes rather than in church buildings. He also conducts conferences on living the deeper Christian life.
Gene and his wife, Helen, reside in Jacksonville, Florida, and have two grown children.
A fun fast paced book with some short chapters telling the events of the bible starting with abram all the way to the escape from egypt and exodus to the promised land from two different perspectives the ones from the people and the ones from God and the angels above in heaven. Looking forward to reading the rest of the books in this series.
Insome places, this novelization of the events of Genesis and Exodus offers a set and encouraging picture of my God who loves His people enormously. But it has several facial inaccuracies that shouldn't appear in a work such as this, and those things undermined the whole. This wasn't as good as I expected, and not as good as The Birth.
I love that Gene's books are so easy to read. The chapters are short but intense. The way he writes allows you to remember the scriptures and in some cases 'see' . Gene's books makes you think and sometimes gives you a different perspective...... Well on to the next book.........
A new perspective on one of the most famous bible stories, thanks Charlton Heston lol. I never thought someone could deliver this sorry in a way we've never heard before. Definitely worth reading.
Awesome. Awesome. This book chronicles the story of Abraham from the angel's point of view and it really did open up my eyes. Whether it is spiritually/Biblically accurate or not, I am sure that the heart of the story remains the same and that is that God is so in love with us. Beautiful story.
A very entertaining, insightful and thought-provoking "Christian" read. Must be taken as a fictional novel based on a considerable amount of Biblical fact. Above all, moving and inspiring!
