This is a cute and charming story about a rabbit who has many adventures while visiting his cousin at the seashore. Through pictures and words, readers get a good sense of what it's like to live by the sea. The fact that the protagonists are animals seems to add to the sense of adventure.

However, the are a few things that bothered me. I fully expected Jeremy's (J.B. of the title) cousin to be another rabbit. To have him be an otter is misleading. (I get that Waldo is expected to be comfortable with the sea. Why not say they are friends rather than cousins?) Another inaccuracy involves scuba diving. The cousins are wearing snorkel gear yet they are under water. Lastly, during the storm, Waldo calls Jeremy an idiot for panicking. Shortly after, Waldo feels bad but he doesn't apologize.

The things that bothered me aren't deal breakers and could provide talking points between child and parent. Overall, this is a cute story with lovely illustrations.

This is the charming tale of a friendly rabbit and his visit to the seashore. The story is straightforward and pleasant. The illustrations are delightful.

Highlights include weird animal to animal proportions (look at how small the mouse is compared to the other animals on the train), an otter in SCUBA gear, and the beautifully detailed landscapes.

However, I am still disappointed that we never got to see Mr. Rabbit's sailor blouse.

I read a paperback version entitled “All Aboard With Jeremy Rabbit”. Despite it perhaps being in a smaller format than the hardback version, the book (and particularly the illustrations) were just as charming as expected!
