Grant R. Jeffrey, the author, provides a very plausible concern for our privacy given the explosion of technology within our culture. Some might view this author as paranoid. Given recent developments in the nanotechnology and quantum computers, maybe Mr. Jeffrey will some day be classified as a prophet. He spells out in this book how many ways the government and private industry is collecting date on each citizen. Who is watching the watchers. A very compelling read.

This book was not your ordinary "conspiracy" book...For some reason, Mr. Jeffrey had to add in a whole lot of irrelevant "end of the world is coming" religious B.S. as well. It never brought forth any new evidence of a global conspiracy. Old ideas were rehashed, but with biblical "evidence" that the rapture was coming and that the coming Antichrist was right around the corner...I'm really not buying it. Maybe I'll rot in hell.

This book would have been a lot better Without all the preachy Biblical Apocalypse rants which consume a significant parr of the book. If you're religious then you been told nobody Knows God's Plan for us and it's certainly Not detailed in this author's book. But this likely won't even bother some people. Other reviews say the author's information is stale And I agree to an extent. The most insidious aspect of the end-times prophecy is the control of currency and access to buy/sell in a collective society And some of us realize this is a far to easy thing to implement (and a mark of a beast could be a metaphor for somethings we've already done). I'd pass if you want a secular theory of the NWO and it's a recommend for those who would get into a end-times conspiracy theory of Biblical Proportions (real wrath of God stuff; dogs and cats living together).

Your eyes will be opened as Jeffrey exposes the various tactics and methods used by the government to track and spy on its citizens. Jeffrey states that the public is awakening to the heightened dangers posed by new surveillance technologies.

This book is loaded with unsubstantiated declarations and a perfect example of “newspapers interpretation” reading current events into the Bible. This is a premillennialist, at least, possibly also Dispensationalist propaganda. There’s zero exegesis only the imposition of the author’s pre-conceived idea upon the text of the scriptures. On p.21 he wrote “John warned that a person’s EVERY ACTIVITIES will be controlled… Remarkably, John was describing a UNIVERSAL POPULATION CONTROL SYSTEM that would impose some kind of NUMERICAL IDENTIFICATION on EVERY PERSON in oder to monitor his or her financial transactions, trade, business and ability to buy and sell.” What verse does he quote for that claim? “That no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name” Revelation 13:17 This verse doesn’t doesn’t talk of every activities only buying and selling, nor does it talk of universal population control, nor of an numerical identification system to monitor every person, but simply those who take the mark. Using the exact same verse on p.53 in reference to the implantation of a RFID chip, he said, of John again, “He prophesied A GLOBAL TOTALITARIAN SYSTEM that would monitor the choices of individuals and rob them of their freedom.” There’s nothing about a global totalitarian system here. All this verse says is that at some point in time some people would not be able to buy or sell. There’s no need for a chip, people in fear of reprisals may simply refuse to sell or buy from Christians. Some companies have been ban from using paypal because of their views and positions on sexual ethics that doesn’t line up with the spirit of the age. On p.31 he claim the resurgence of the Roman empire “The prophetic time line shows that the REVIVED ROMAN EMPIRE will rise to global power about SEVEN-PLUS YEARS years prior to the Second Coming of Christ” his text? Daniel 2 :31-34 “Daniel 2:31–34 (AV): Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible. 32 This image’s head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass, 33 His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay. 34 Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.” ZERO references to any kind of time or to a revival of any empire. The only reason i can see for such a claim is that one needs the prophesies of Daniel to fit current event and match with other texts of the book of Revelation. Since the fourth empire is long gone we need to revive it, instead of admitting our interpretation was wrong and going back to the Scriptures. P.155 he says “attempting to identify the antichrist before he appears is futile.” Yet Revelation 13:18 tells John’s readers to actually count the number. This is the book of revelation not of hiding, John is revealing the identity. He that is wise that hath understanding, count the number. So basically what this book says is that : in our time, we will see the forming of a global totalitarian government and that out of it will arise the antichrist that will bring peace for 3 1/2 years than broke it and tyrannise those who are still present on earth at that time. Than Christ will come back throw him in the lake of fire reign for a thousand year then the end. Entertaining, easy to read, great flow that’s it.

Although this book is somewhat out-of-date and the author is no longer living, I'm glad I spent the time reading it. It would be great to have an updated version.

The shadow government is a book and a documentary by Grant Jeffrey. The book looks into the conspiracy theory of governments spying on their citizens. Grant states in his book and movie that governments violate our privacy for the seek of their security and we are not save and secure by any means. Grant also quotes verses of Bible related to his theory of shadow government.

This book was interesting...and scary. It's amazing how technology has helped the world but it also works against us in regards to our privacy. I think I'll start browsing the internet in privacy mode.

It is an ok read, but none of the material is new. People have known about rfids for a while and the theoriesof possible use. For those that dont follow conspiracy theory, it will not spark much.
