"Every girl sets out on an unknown quest without knowing it until she meets the man of her heart," someone told Gaye - but Gaye, spoiled and pampered by her father, was not particularly looking for any other man.Was she really so independent, or would she one day meet a man who could get the better of her?
I have to say I struggled with this heroine. The hero was the usual enigmatic totally adorbs guy who at no time that I recall ever took the heroine out on a boat like that. They were on a yacht together but I don't think he was steering.
The heroine was the ultimate spoilt Daddy's girl who was all about me me me me me...ad nauseum. To the point that her father was unable to marry the woman he loved because it would make Me-girl unhappy. Lance (rides in on a white charger) sees some potential but believes it might be buried too deep.
Author then throws adversity at the heroine. And throws more...finally she gets it that loving someone isn't all about her...except not being loved in return is all about her. She does mature...a bit. Hero might need to smack her around a bit (figuratively) now and then to keep her on the straight and narrow.
Not my favourite by this author. I usually love her MOCs but this one didn't quite make it for me.
Absolutely selfish heroine for the most part. However the male character fell in love with her I don't know. Bravely written by the author to hope the reader will stick with the novel to achieve the end.
The hero is bossy and uses his physical advantage to get his own way. However this one sticks in my mind. Got it from the free book cart at the library and read twice so it has to be at least 3 stars.
