Andrew Wommack is filled with the Holy Spirit! He pointed so many things out of Elijah's life that I did not see or interpret. He interpreted the Word clearly too! I started with listening to his audio sermons and they were SO GOOD. There is a series of sermons on the same topic, "Lessons from Elijah", and I assume them to be the same. I still prefer to listen to his audios. Very eye-opening!

Go to www.awmi.net to listen to his audio. This man is after God's own heart. Truly.

My husband and I read Lessons from Elijah together and greatly enjoyed it. Andrew Wommack is a gifted writer. He writes in a manner that is easy to understand, using Biblical text along with stories from his own life and that of others.

Lessons from Elijah show the importance of obeying God, especially, when we don't have all the details. Elijah obeyed God. He took action, and a leap of faith, trusting God to provide what was needed

So often we want to serve the Lord in a greater capacity. To witness the fruit of our labor as we do our work unto the Lord. Yet fear and feeling inadequate can hold us back. The author says, "The fruit is out on the limb, but we're all hugging the trunk." I don't want to be a trunk hugger, I want to go where the fruit is. And be like Elijah; whose faith and trust in God enabled him to bear good fruit.

Readers are reminded of the importance of not only listening to God but obeying what He tells us. So often impatience creeps in and we do things in our own time and way. Elijah waited three years until He heard from God, A lot of patience was required. While waiting upon the Lord, be aware of Satan and his devious way to manipulate God's plan.

Elijah spoke God's Word even when nothing at the time was happening. This required boldness and courage and Elijah had both. Emphasis is given to only speak God's Word, not our own doctrines and opinions. God's Word will exalt us. Elijah mixed faith with God's Word. Like Elijah we need to be aggressive in our faith, boldly speak God's Word, and allow God to do the rest.

In Holy Fire, the account is given of Elijah and the prophets of Baal. Elijah knew what His God was capable of, and He had no doubt, God would do as he asked of Him. And God never failed him. What about us? Do we fully believe God can do the impossible? We may say, "I know He can, but will He?" We’re to have confidence; the Lord can and will do the impossible. Speak God's Word first, then see the miracles that follow.

What happened when God's fire fell down from heaven? The people fell down on their knees. They acknowledged and worshiped God. He demonstrated His power right before their eyes. Yes; Elijah had great faith and confidence, God would do what he asked. God still demonstrates His power today. People get healed, are raised from the dead, and have demons cast out. Hallelujah!

Another time, a severe drought was in the land. Elijah stated he heard the sound of abundance of rain, before he saw a cloud in the sky. He prayed and believed God would send rain, and He did. Elijah had other amazing victories. He previously killed 850 people with a sword. Yet we read how he fled and hid in a cave after receiving a message that Jezebel wanted him dead. Where was his courage, did he lose his trust in God?

Elijah had many successes, doing what no other had ever accomplished. Better Than My Father's brings to the forefront what happens when a person becomes high-minded thinking they are better than others. Elijah started out being totally dependent of God. This chapter reveals what led to his downfall. Pride is no respecter of persons, it can happen to anyone. Thank God for His mercy and grace.

Then the Lord asks Elijah, "What are you doing here?" Elijah wasn't where he was supposed to be. Then came the excuses. And he didn't speak the absolute truth either. God is never fooled. He knew better than what Elijah was telling Him. Later, Elijah heard God speak to him in a still small voice. God gave him 3 specific things to do. Elijah didn’t obey, he did just one. God decided it was time to anoint his successor.

Be Faithful reveals what resulted from Elijah not being fully obedient to God. Consequences resulted in people getting killed. Also, when people don't do what God asked of them, He will appoint someone else who's willing. Being qualified has nothing to do with it. Being faithful and obedient are the qualifiers. Remaining humble is another key. Let God do the promoting, not oneself.

In Conclusion, the author hopes the Lord will enable readers to learn from what they've read in this book. A summary is given of 13 major points to help readers identify the strengths and weaknesses of Elijah, and how they can be applied in our lives today. Yes; mistakes can be avoided by learning from the ones made by others.

This is a book about the life of Elijah. God gave Elijah a word. Elijah did what God directed him to do. He walked faithfully with God and got many people to turn back to God. Most of us know this story. What many of us forget, look past, or fail to see is Elijah quit on God when he was at the pinnacle of success, all because of a threat that put fear into him. He chose to look inward instead of upward! Even though Elijah never completed the work that God had for him and quit, he still found favor with God and was one of only 2 men that never died. If this favored man of God struggled with his faith and God still used him and favored him, there is hope for the rest of us as well!

Great book! I learned a lot about the life of Elijah and how by looking closer at his successes and mistakes, we can glean wisdom from them and avoid making the same mistakes (as with much of the Bible’s characters.) Some examples were listening to God, calling, pride, success, and pity, or the relationship between myself and God. I found the writing straightforward and the style + content interesting, and great pages for taking notes on things I heard or thought.
Definitely looking forward to reading more of Mr. Wommack’s books!

"God sends his provisions to where you are to go, not to where you are."  🤯🔥
So that tells me that we not only have to step out in faith but we have to be obedient to where He calls us, especially if we want Him to use us for His glory in other things.

Indonesian Version.
