The first full-blown biography of Frieda Lawrence, the unconventional wife of D. H. Lawrence draws on multiple sources to follow Frieda from her aristocratic Prussian childhood, through her tumultuous affairs and marriages, to her years in Taos, New Mexico. National ad/promo.
Highly readable. She not only had a genius for living, she had a high tolerance for a genius who was a brute, tho she was combative in her own way. Didn't make me want to read D.H., not that I have read much and I certainly prefer his poetry.
