A full-color gallery with over 150 photos of the original Broadway production; color costume and set designs and sketches; the complete back-story of the production from concept to launch to hit musical; artists at the helm: the crossing from fact to fiction; a brief history of Titanic lore; poster and marketing art; and the complete book and lyrics.
This script is amazing! It tells the story through the music and it stays true to the real story. I do have to say that the music is very touching! Especially "Godspeed Titanic", "The Blame", & "Epilogue: In Every Age".
Not only does it have full-color pictures of the original cast, it details the struggle to get the musical on-stage, and the full book and lyrics. Fantastic piece that should belong on any broadway fan's bookshelf!
I love learning about the making of musicals. This was definitely eye opening in terms of the subject matter and how it was translated from real life to the stage.
I liked the book but I never saw this musical. I saw the movie many times, so the characters were familiar. I'd like to see it live, but it is so sad. The beginning of the book was about the making of the musical and it was interesting. The book includes a list of people who didn't make it, so many people.
This is a great libretto for one main reason. These characters were created with such care and respect, because they are based on real people. The lyrics are great too. Some people will not really care for it, but I love it.
