Remembering the Dame

Rate this book
Two detectives, one a drunk, one an amnesiac, walk into a mobster’s compound. Chaos ensues! The search for Annie, the missing Dame begins.

Duval, the amnesiac, remembers that’s she’s missing and he’s looking for her. Mooney, the drunk, remembers he’s never met her, but is willing to help Duval if it means a payday that will score him more liquor and more importantly pie.

As they pursue their leads, they find out Annie is well remembered by the wrong sorts of people. Unsavory types abound in this debut novel mystery. Robots stalk the streets, spy games abound, movies are made.

But who is Annie and where is she? Is she really the person all of these miscreants believe her to be? Did she hide out from their vicious plans? Or is she gone like Detective Duval believes?

Come on along on this wild and hilarious romp through 1950 and all that entails! Maybe if Duval could just remember why he was there and who that Dame, Annie, was and why he was looking for her they can solve the mystery.

Remembering the Dame presents a longing is the person we are defined by those around us or do we define ourselves?
