Webber was fanatical in his attention to detail and his commitment to ferreting out trail diaries and details. Anne Billeter is a dedicated historian, librarian and researcher and Webber wouldn't have been able to accomplish what he did without her work. This volume has excerpts from trail diaries and documents several of Webber's excursions to photograph the trail in his time. Also in the volume is the documentation of a series of trail markers that his association installed along the Southern Route of the Oregon Trail, some that can still be found today.
