A year ago, I reluctantly erased my true other half’s memories of our time together. She said that if we were truly meant to be married, our souls would find each other again. Now, I’ve illegally traveled to Earth and have found her alone in a secluded cabin. I only have a few days to convince her of who I am to her. But the odds are against me. She didn’t recognize me on sight, no longer has a translator, and sees me as an alien. But I refuse to give up. There is no one else for me in the galaxy.
WILL I BE ABLE TO CONVINCE TOVE OF OUR LOVE IN TIME?
Two POV 40k All Doors are Open HEA
The Alliance Holiday Series is set in the present day. However, aliens, especially the Alliance fleet, play an important role in humanity’s interactions in the galaxy (even if most humans are unaware). Enter this alien world and follow these human women to the Alliance Empire, a matriarchal society where women have always ruled, but Alliance men have always dominated their hearts. There are few heroes or women being rescued. Instead, readers are led through complex traditions of an alien culture: mazes of alien courting rituals, obedience to strict religious codes, and often uncomfortable compromises, all while chasing romance and marriage. Every door is open in the Holiday Alliance Series. Each book is standalone but can be traced back to something the women in House Human discovered about the Alliance’s relationship with Earth 600 years later in the Renascence Alliance Series. An overarching story is intertwined throughout the series, but it is not necessary to read the books chronologically to enjoy the romance of each individual book.
ALLIANCE HOLIDAY SERIES 1. Married to the Yuletide Alien, Alliance Holiday Book 1 2. Married to My Alien Valentine, Alliance Holiday Book 2 3. Married to My Midsummer Alien, Alliance Holiday Book 3 4. Married to the All Hallows' Eve Alien, Alliance Holiday Book 4
I’m rating this book 2 stars as I felt the writing quality was good and I liked the overall style of writing however the story itself was a car crash in my opinion. I was hoping for a nice holiday romance ( given the title) but this book had nothing to do with Christmas (or Yuletide) and made zero sense to me. I wasn’t routing for the couple at any point and even now don’t know why the FMC chose the MMC. I will not be continuing with this series.
Don't be fooled by the title of this book. Despite the “Yuletide” in the title, this isn't a holiday romance in any sense of the word. Yes, it takes place at Christmas time, but there are no real references to Christmas or any real sense of the holiday spirit. It could have been placed at midsummer, for all the difference Christmas made to anything in the story. To call the alien a “Yuletide” alien seems absurd on a whole different level. It's a proper novel length, but I felt as though the author divided it into several discrete parts not well tied together. The alien hero is sweet and charming in his forthrightness, but I thought he jumped a little too quickly to reveal more of their backstory after going on and on at different points earlier about not doing so. The different parts of the book felt disjointed. How they were at their isolated cabin differed from what happened later in the book. The time at the moon base didn't seem to blend well with either the part that went before or the part that came after. Their eventual intimate scene felt more “ick” than “yum” for several reasons, one being its very public nature. At the start of the book, the author states she will use anatomical terms in intimate scenes because she feels as though we should all be comfortable with that. As a nurse who has to deal with all things anatomical, I didn't feel like the anatomical body references made the intimate scene better. In fact, I think it added to my “ick” factor. I prefer more artistry than science in my love scenes, thank you very much! As I feel like the book misrepresented itself on several levels and the distinct parts of it felt too distinct, I do not feel like I can recommend this book.
I received a promo code for this audiobook, but that did not affect my review.
This is the first book that I’ve read by this author and it definitely won’t be the last. I loved reading Tei and Tove’s story. It’s well written with amazing characters, Tei is an alliance doctor and the head of House Rega. He met Tove when she was abducted by other aliens and sold. He bought her in order to free her, as much as a human can be in alliance space, and she worked with him on his alliance warship. The storyline has incredible world building, erased memories, reunification, a big decision, a marriage, steamy scenes and more with a happily ever after ending. Tove and Tei made the decision for Tove to have her memories of their time together erased and she was returned to Earth. She told Tei to come back for her after a year and if her memories returned then they were destined to be together. Tei illegally comes to earth for Tove in the hopes that she remembers and chooses to become his wife. Her memories or at least most of them return but unfortunately alliance officials arrive before she can make her choice and accuse Tei of planning to abduct Tove. They take Tove to their base to be assessed by their dr and if her mind is found to have been manipulated then her memories will be erased permanently and Tei will be arrested and charged with abducting her. What will the dr find? And will they get married and live happily ever after? You will need to read to find out.

loved it !! a great start for a new spin-off/series... love , love, love Tei and Tove... this is their heart breaking love story.. a fast paced heart breaking drama... once upon a time they were so in love.. but, was it true or just a trick ? do soul mates really exist ? Tove didn't know what to believe anymore.. her memory wiped.. two years lost.. a year apart.. she remembers nothing.. she's been drifting since she was found a year ago with nothing, no memory .. two years missing.. her best friends mom came to get her and take her home in Sweden... now, a stalker... she goes to the mountain cabin of her friends family to be alone... Tei has been waiting for a year, ever hopeful , that she will remember when she sees him and they can marry...when she sees him and remembers nothing... the hurt ... he has three days only.. can he help her remember their love without telling her outright.. the rules she made... it seems an impossible thing but, he must try.. his heart depends on it !!! he has just this one chance !!! so heart breaking... you will cry !!!.

However, there are some horrible scenes from Tove’s abduction. Those can be skipped or skimmed, because they are referenced without details in other parts of the story. There many odd interactions between Tove and Tei because of the restraints she has put on him to win her over a second time. But there are many funny and heartwarming ones too!
The earth scenes are little different because this is a different country that has different holiday traditions. Please pay attention to the information and interactions of the people. On of her friends is the focus of the next book. The Alliance scenes give you a decent tease of lives in a strong important Matriarchal society in this time frame.
If you are coming from reading the other Alliance series Remember this is ~approximately 600 years before that series. Also note this is not XXXX in s*xual content more like XX1/2 stars. This Alliance structure is not as violent , powerful or ruthless!
If that is why you want to read these then don’t bother you will be upset and give a good author bad reviews.
📖 Summary: Tei has only three days to convince Tove that they’re soulmates… after erasing her memory and returning to Earth illegally. No pressure.
📚 Bookish Moments: “Furry folds” will live rent-free in my brain forever 🤣 This one felt heavier than others in the series — especially when we learn what happened before Tei came back. No spoilers but 😭😭.
Again, I would have died during the marriage ceremony properly. Especially with no heads up! These Alien husbands are truly clueless!
🌌 Worldbuilding: Tei’s devotion to his religion and societal expectations is deep — to the point of emotional self-sacrifice. It added complexity to his character, but I’d offer caution to readers sensitive to themes of religious control or trauma.
💭 Final Thoughts: This wasn’t my favorite of the series, but I still enjoyed the ride. I personally would’ve had a hard time forgiving Tei, but I liked where things landed. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⸻
🎧 Narration Style: Dual ⭐️ Audio Score: 4 stars 🔁 Re-listen Worthy: Yes — but only after mentally prepping for emotional whiplash and religious trauma.

Gleeful Goblin Review: My God this story....I loved every minute of listening to these narrators (dual narrators and dual POV) but it was also heart breaking listening to the story unfold. Seeing one part of this couple pining for the woman he loves who is right in front of him while for the longest time that woman has no idea who he is to her. Hearing their love story told in pieces and almost out of order in how details are explained will keep you on the edge of your proverbial seat and the utter relief once there's a shift between them is almost indescribable. This story will keep your emotions near the surface the whole time and it's not an easy path to HEA for these two but still absolutely gets there in the end. 5/5 Stars.

This is a second-chance romance with a twist. Tove was lost for two years and can remember nothing of her time, however since returning to her life she always feels incomplete. She heads to her friend's remote cottage for Christmas, only to find an alien at her doorstep. Tei is gray but looks very human. He has less than three days to convince Tove that she is his other half.
Alma's books are set in a matriarchal society and use anatomically correct phrases for everything. The world she has created is elaborate and contains sacrifices to the Gods, this is my third book in the series (I've read out of order) and each holds unique elements and excellent writing. I preferred the female narrator's voice, but both did a good job with excellent pace and inflections.

Married to the Yuletide Alien by Alma Nilsson is a delightful blend of sci-fi and Christmas romance, perfect for those who enjoy a festive love story with an otherworldly twist. Tei, the alien protagonist, is on a time-sensitive mission to rekindle a forgotten love with Tove, his human soulmate, during the holiday season in a remote Swedish cabin. The tension of trying to convince her of their past connection while facing cultural and linguistic barriers makes for an engaging, emotional ride.
The narration by Jill Smith and Jack Calihan enhances the audiobook experience, with Smith capturing Tove’s confusion and Calihan bringing depth to Tei's determination. Their voices complement the story’s atmosphere, adding warmth and a touch of holiday magic.
If you enjoy a mix of romance, sci-fi, and a cozy Christmas setting, this audiobook is a fun and heartwarming choice.
Married to the Yuletide Alien is the first a the series Alliance Holiday. Alma Nisson wrote a fantastic series each one is incredible. Jill Smith and Jack Calihan do a fantastic job on the narration. The story is interesting, entertaining, romantic and more. In each of the stories in the series the alien is a male they have a certain period of time they have to convince the human female that she is his. In this story the protagonist has three days to convince his loved one that he erased her memory that she is meant to be his.

Married to the Yuletide Alien was a wonderful affirmation of love set during the Christmas season and taking place in the universes of Earth and the Alliance. Human Tove and Tei of House Rega have a history that unfolds with excellent writing and wonderful world building as their story comes to life in the pages of a heartwarming sometimes nail biting narrative that is an ultimately emotionally satisfying read. I enjoyed this story enormously as I’m sure other readers of Sci-Fi Romance will too.

'You must come to me as an equal, and then we will see what the galaxy holds for us.'
Tove has challenged Tei to prove their love is the real deal. It could be Stockholm Syndrome, gratitude, manipulation, or any number if things... but if it's real, and he can convince her, then maybe happily ever after really is waiting for them.
This kindle unlimited quick read is a twist on second chance romances because there is a sense of hope for their future, from the very moment they separate, and Tei's actions are driven equally by love and hope.
Tei is back after year to claim his tabby. But he must help her remember what they mean to each other. She believes that she’s been missing for two years on earth. She doesn’t remember her TA this could be a problem. This is a interesting mystery on how they have a second chance. Conflict, skepticism and memory loss are working together and against each other for truths. Good performance by narrators and like story line.

This is my first time reading this authors books and I loved this one! Tei and Tove are true loves who have parted in the hopes of reuniting as equals. The scene was set up beautifully. The characters are well developed and I fell in love with both of them. I found myself anxious for Tei to get through to Tove. A great read.

What a story it is only short but a great read. Tei finds Tove about to be auctioned and fell in love with her as he said she was his soul mate. Then when Tei wants to get married Tove asks him to erase her memory and she sets out the question that he can ask when they meet again. When Tove returns to Earth she has been missing for two years. I can’t wait to read more by this author.
Ms. Nilsson really delivers with "Married to the Yuletide Alien". She brings a story that is heartbreaking and beautiful in equal measures. -So much longing and a collision of cultures between humans and the Alliance. I loved this holiday romance with a rewarding ending. Another unique and amazing Alliance book from Alma Nilsson.
Jill Smith & Jack Calihan gave excellent performances.

This is the first book in the Alliance Holiday Series, a Sci-Fi Romance. The characters are complex, and intriguing. The world building is original. Jill Smith and Jack Calihan did an excellent job bringing this story to life. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listening to Married to My Alien Valentine, the next book in the series. Why can’t I remember that I hate the amnesia trope? It’s like the amnesia trope gives me amnesia… it always sounds so great in the synopsis but then I inevitably have a bad time actually reading it 🤦🏻♀️
But I think this book solidified why I dislike it (and maybe that will help me remember?): I don’t like the way that the remembering person approaches the love story so hesitantly, even half-heartedly? I want it to feel angsty but instead it feels tepid.
But I can’t just give this book one star for having my most hated trope.
Because Sweden. This Yuletide Sweden setting was everything.
It was like this: Person: before this novella began, the heroine was saved by her fated mate in space, fell in love with him, yet decided to have her memories erased and get sent back to earth instead Me: that makes no sense Person: she was from Sweden Me: okay, that makes complete sense
Not believing in fate (but kinda sorta believing in gnomes), being obsessed with equality (she couldn’t be certain of their relationship unless they were on equal footing), being frustratingly passive (going back to earth with no memories and no plan of how to find each other again)—this premise only makes sense in Sweden.
And it almost hurt me with how nostalgic it made me feel (have I mentioned that I used to live in Sweden?). Plus, no one does Yuletide, aka the darkest day of the year, like a remote northern Swedish cottage (med en sauna, naturligtvis).
This author definitely knows how to do world building. And it’s strange because the alien culture she’s created makes me a bit uncomfy? I’ve only read novellas in this universe so far, and I feel like I need to try a full length novel next.
this was a great alien/human romance, it had what I was looking for based on description. It worked as a beginning chapter to this series. I enjoyed reading this and how well everything worked together. It left me wanting to read more.

I love how the author took a chance of taking us through the bonding of Tove and Tei. I love how their love shown through even with her memories wiped clean. Once they touched they both feel their souls connecting again. Will she be able to remember in time?.

This book was so not what I was expecting but I did enjoy reading it. I thought Tei really loved Tov to let her go like he did. The Alliance marriage customs were a little out there, especially at the end. But Tei kept his promise and came for Tove so they could have their HEA. I would read more by this author.
I really enjoyed this book. Tei goes back to earth to try and win back Tove. Tove is a human woman that asked Tei too send her back to earth and try and win her heart as equals. This was so good and so well-written.

I think you had to read a previous book to understand the story. There is not a warning about that. I thought I would be reading a holiday romance. It was...kind of.
I would read another book by this author. She writes well. I was left not understanding a great deal by not reading the original story.

The first book in the Alliance Holiday series. This is Human Tove and Tei of House Rega's story. A year ago Tove was found where she was not suppose to be, she had been missing for two years. I enjoyed reading their story and seeing them get a happy ending.
I really enjoyed this one. It was really cute and unique. I love finding holiday themed books with aliens! Definitely going to look for more from this author.

An alien on a mission. Tei has only three days to win his soulmate back after her memories of their love have been taken from her. If that isn't tricky enough, it follows an agreement that he and Tove made before she was returned to Earth sans her memories. A great holiday read.

An entertaining read. It is quite a culture that Alma Nilsson has created with her Alliance worlds and grey aliens. I always enjoy visiting with her characters.
