The final book in the Razor's Edge Chronicles!

How did I wind up chained with silver and pumped full of drugs to keep me unconscious?

I was under the impression that there was no crisis on the horizon, and that Sarroch and I were therefore free to go on our first proper date. Except that I’m clearly a glutton for punishment, because I decide that I should talk to Yue, to clear the air. So even though it goes against every survival instinct, I set up a meeting with her.

Surprisingly, Yue doesn’t end up being the biggest problem I face, despite her very clear desire to rid the world of me. The masked kidnappers who inject us both with drugs and silver are clearly far more dangerous.

Which is how I find myself groggy, chained up, with no idea of where I am, or who kidnapped us and why. Now, not only do I need to find a way to get out of this mess, but I need to do it while collaborating with Yue.

Which is a bit like trying to hug a rabid dog while hoping not to get bitten.

Celine Jeanjean is French, grew up in the UK and now she travels the world as a nomadic writer. That makes her a tad confused about where she is from. During her travels she's watched the sun rise over Angkor Wat, lost her shoes in Vietnam, and fallen off a bamboo raft in China.

Celine writes stories that feature quirky characters and misfits, set in wondrous worlds.

Just when things are going so good with Apiya and Sarroch, things get complicated between the Mundanes and the Mayak. Well, it was complicated before, but now disaster is about to strike. It all begins when Apiya and her mortal enemy, Yue, are kidnapped by some mercenary Mundanes. If you must know, the kidnapping is just the beginning. Apiya has a huge task in front of her. Escape from the kidnappers, keep Yue from killing her and prevent an all-out war between the Mayak and Mundanes. No problem. And if that all works out, she an Sarroch might get to go on another date. I’m rooting for you two kids!

This series continues to charm me with its setting, quirky characters, ongoing (very slow burn) romance and Apiya’s menagerie. Changed by Trust even takes Celine Jeanjean fans to a place they’ve been before and perhaps did not expect to go again! I loved this surprise trip! I know, a little cryptic, but I don’t want to spoil anything!

Change by Trust is another short novel in this series. I have enjoyed every one of them. Reading the series in order is best. If you start with this book, you are just want to go back and start at the beginning. Trust me.

Many thanks to the author who provided a copy of her book. My review is my honest opinion.

In the seventh and best of The Razor's Edge Chronicles Apiya takes a step back in her relationship with the handsome Sarroch. Although already bonded they start again with a first date. All goes well until Apiya decides to meet Yue trying to settle their differences. Yue is unwilling to forgive her, but they are suddenly both kidnapped and only by pooling their resources can they possibly escape. In a delightful section of the book Apiya meets two much loved characters from a different book series. With their help she returns to Panong where there are major problems between the Mundanes and the magical Mayaks. Only Apiya can prevent warfare, but she needs the help of Tim the grumpy cat and little Zer her paripari. I would love to see a fully illustrated version of this series or even a film.

Perfect for those that like happy endings

I loved this latest installment in the Razor’s Edge series – and yes, I’m a sucker for a happy ending. In this series, enemies come to respect, understand one another more, and learn how to co-exist. Yue and Apiya are also able to work out their differences - through lots of challenging strife. We also see Sarroch and Apiya’s relationship develop.

Lots of fast paced action in this story, including a nice introductory look into another of Celine’s series – The Viper and the Urchin.

A funny story full of adventures that made me enjoy it from the start till the end. If you enjoyed the anterior stories you'll enjoy this one too and be on your toes waiting for the closure...

Fantastic End

I loved this series. I am sad this may be the last book. But it was a great book, tying up loose ends, completing plot points, and showing how awesome Apiya is. And I loved the short visit to two characters in another series I have read. I loved them just as much. I am sad but also anticipating what comes next.

I liked this book. Apiya is a great character and she gets herself in all sorts of trouble. I also like the descriptions and powers of all the magical creatures in the Maya. The plot is easily followed and the feeling of doing what is right also appeals to me. I definitely recommend this book and the rest of the books in this series.

kidnapped again!

Apiya seems to have a target on her back! This time, she gets kidnapped with her nemesis Yue. Can they work together to escape, or will Yue finally be able to get rid of the pesky human she hates with all her heart?

Another amazing book in the series. We can see that her human actions are somewhat surprising to everyone else. Her responsibility and taking care of it was a very high point for me in the book.
