Cancer and Vitamin C explains in plain language the nature and known causes of this disease. It also weighs the value and limitations of various modes of treatment: surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, hormones, immunotherapy, and a number of unorthodox ones. The value of vitamin C as an adjunct therapy is corroborated by detailed accounts of cancer patients who have derived varying degrees of benefit from vitamin C treatment.
In this work Dr. Pauling declares the simplest of theorems. That is that we don't consume more than 10% of the Vitamin C that we actually need. For this the medical establishment accused him of being a quack. How does the medical establishment get away with calling a 2 time Nobel Prize winner a quack? I guess they believe that their money and organization trumps his intellect.
I found reading this book to be a very unique experience. I enjoyed the case studies, but especially enjoyed the way the book reads. It feels like you are listening to Pauling and Cameron's minds. Plus, my copy was signed by Pauling, so that's awesome.
This is probably the tenth time I have read this book, since sitting In a class at Stanford University listening to Linus Pauling discuss the subject. Different parts jump out at me at different times of my life, and it's always useful to have the book around to refer to. Going to purchase an e copy to always have.
Cameron and Pauling treated a large series of terminally ill cancer patients with massive doses of vitamin C. As a person interested in health issues I have used this book to use vitamin C therapy. Even prevented onslaughts of cold/allergy problems after following the guidelines. This book explains why the A.M.A. and how the A.M.A. discredits vitamin C trials and their results by pointing out discrepancies in testing, misleading language, and a lack of objectivity which is necessary in any scientific discussion. For me if a therapy is safe, cheap, and provides cure/relief there should be no objection for the user. The book is extremely informative and probably a must for cancer patients.
Fascinating and important book for anyone concerned about cancer. It expresses ideas that are not in alignment with the highly profitable cancer industry.
