The authors introduce readers to the joys of Mediterranean gardening, featuring twenty-five gardens from France, Italy, Spain, and California that capture the sunny, terraced splendor of this ancient approach to gardening. 10,000 first printing.
This was a great book to read during a rainy week in January. It was inspirational for dreaming of ideas I'd love to include in my garden. Rather more of a wish-list book than what I will actually be able to install. The gardens featured are located all over the world - primarily Spain, Italy, France, and California. In additional to plants, the author discusses architectural aspects, water features, paving, plantings for sun and low water needs, and the Mediterranean style - the look and the elements. The book is full of color photos, and several of the gardens depicted offer visits by appointment. I would love to do that!
I'm so glad I discovered this book. It's so inspirational and full of excellent information. This is definitely ranking high on my list of favorite garden books. :)
