This established collection of readings uses articles and photo-essays to apply psychology to personal growth and development. The text guides students in learning about themselves and interacting with society. Its six major themes–identity, human communication, growth dynamics, feelings and emotions, human relationships, and leading a quality life–provide a thought-provoking look at how psychology influences personal development.
I had Nelson Goud as my professor for three separate classes at IUPUI in the 80's. He was a terrific professor; someone who made you think then listened to what you learned. I always felt he was more of a facilitator or fellow traveler on the path to enlightenment. We used this book in class and it may be the only one of my textbooks I still have, and use at times!
Not bad for a text book. The short articles that make up this book offer a wide range of perspectives on all different subjects related to personal growth. Each of the six sections are relevant to today and easy to relate to.
