This series just keeps getting better and better. Just when you think it can’t get any worse, it goes because Calli is thrown into the Conquest of the Sea. Emerson won’t let anything happen to her and goes to find her. When Calli’s friends and mate go into the Conquest of Sea to find her they all will be tested. This story had me completely hooked and the price Calli paid was a twist I didn’t see coming. I need the next book ASAP. Truly an amazing read that had me hooked.

The Wyern Clan series continues with the third book in the series, A Conquest of Monsters. Just when I thought things couldn't be that much worse I get thrown for another loop, one I didn't see coming. I'm having all the feels. Gods, I was not prepared.

Family doesn't have to be blood, they can be chosen too. Callie has finally opened up her mind and heart and gained a family she would do anything for and who would do anything for her. Callie has come a long way, she trusts more and is leaning on the others when she needs to. Calli even manages to work through some of her issues enough to see a future as a fae with her family by her side and she's willing to fight tooth and nail to get it.

Things are finally good between Emerson and Callie. They realize their feelings and admitted it out loud. I love how Emerson is obsessively in love with Calli, utterly devoted to her like a man possessed and I loved it. Getting another glimpse into Emerson's past I can understand why. A lot of things about his past were explained more thoroughly helping to paint a more detailed picture.

It should be mentioned that the gang was all there. Lorenzo, Felix, Zurine, Nerelyth, and even Posey all have significant roles and pull together as a family to help fight the threats that are being aimed their way. This group has grown so much and this latest crisis has bonded them together even stronger. A few of my theories about the group actually pans out in this book and I can't wait to see where it goes.

Calli and the gang can't catch a break. The Siren King has thrown Calli into a deadly tournament, one where very few (if any) survive. It's an underwater nightmare with all sorts of aquatic creatures and dangers lurking every. Not only does Calli and the gang have to contend with that but Calli is still dreaming of dark Louie in the Rift. The introduction of gods, goddesses, new mythology, and more information on the Rift, all makes for a compelling read. The more I find out, the more questions I have about Calli. What do these Gods know? What do they really want? I have a bunch of questions like this and I can't wait for the answers.

Conquest of Monsters was dramatic and painful but gods was good. Like every darn book in this series it ended on a cliffhanger but this one was brutal, Gem demolished my heart with this one. I'm in tears. I need the next book as soon as possible.

3.5 STARS ✨
Rounded up to four stars.

As I could not put the first three books of this series down, I will be reviewing Heir of Monsters, and Possession of Monsters and Conquest of Monsters together; the review will be posted on all three of the books, and will not contain spoilers.

This series is so addictive. G. Bailey has created a fascinating world that follows Calliophe, a half fae with no power and no knowledge of her lineage who spent her whole childhood haunted by a monster attempting to take her life. It is only when she is hired by Emerson, the king of the Wyverns, to track down his missing sister, that the truth begins to unravel.

I think one of the things that really captivates me whilst reading is a love for the characters: I adored Calliophe, her best friend, and all of the Wyvern clan. That, with the interesting world building of Wyvcelm, made the first three books so easy to get through. The cliffhangers at the end, however, are absolutely brutal, and I've been having serious withdrawals waiting for Veil of Monsters with that ending.

I think that there are a couple of plot holes at some points, and it is a shame that the books get progressively shorter as I feel as if they could have all worked at a similar length with the intensity of everything that is going on, but they were all enjoyable reads nevertheless.

Wow – this was fantastic!

I love this series so much and this book was ON POINT! Calli was entered into the Conquest of the Sea by the Siren King, which is a brutal test that very few survive. Nerelyth goes to tell Emerson, the King of the Wyern, where she has been sent and not only pledges her allegiance to him, but also goes along with them to enter the Conquest themselves to save Calli. They must face many challenges that test them to nearly the point of death.

Calli manages to make it thru, but at what cost? The God of the Sea claims she used her one wish to survive, which I think was a total dick move on his part. So, she makes another promise to save her friends… except none of them except Posy remember her. In addition, the rift is getting larger and she is having dreams of her friend Louis who was thrown into the rift. He now is an adult and is the first king of the 12… and he wants her dead!

It ends in a cliffhanger, but I am just dying to find out what happens next!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was another great addition to the series, and it ends with a cliffhanger leaving me ready to read the next book in this series. This story was action packed from beginning to end as Calliophe, Emerson, Lorenzo, Felix, Zurine, Nerelyth and even Posy has to survive the Conquest of the Sea. There's no guarantee any of them will make it out alive as all odds are against them and the King of Sirens want Calliophe dead. The tests are hard, lives are at stake, a deal will be made, and the cost will be higher than any price expected to pay. The rift needs to be stopped. Louie lets his plans be known and there's some truth to Calliope past that she's not ready to hear. I can't wait to find out more about her past as in this story we got more of Emerson as well as some of Nerelyth past. There's danger, darkness, death, steamy scenes, betrayal, surprises and more. I'm definitely looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

I had originally started to read this book a month or so ago, but was so lost on what was going on as it had been a while since I had read the first two books, that I started a reread.

I am still enjoying the series. As with the first read, I have noticed the very… Rhysand like characteristics in Emerson. Beautiful male, purple eyes, wingspan, dark power… 😏

I do feel this book was on the shorter end. But I also like that we got tidbits of multi-POV!

The twist at the end is.. interesting, and I am curious to see where that goes.

so good!

Man this series knows how to rip your heart out and make you come back for more. The author knows how to write a wonderful world, amazing characters and makes you believe that there’s hope for said world and characters and then smashes it with a hammer. I can’t wait for book four!

It’s giving me all the feels!

I can’t read this series fast enough. It’s been so long since I read a series that keeps me turning the pages even when I have other things I should be doing. I love the found family, the adventure, the romance has me kicking my feet and the plot has me sweating. Love everything G Bailey has done with The Wyern Clan series and can’t wait for more.

My only complaint with this book.. serious things happening, calli almost dies, they have sex. Serious things happening they almost get in a tornado of water, let’s make out. Like I get wanting to show someone you love them and can’t believe they almost died but let’s resolve the problem before doing the do. Ya feel me?

Very enjoyable great reading

I really enjoyed this book and loved the characters. I can't wait to see what will happen next for them especially for Callie and Emerson since he doesn't remember who she is to him.

I'd be ashamed at the fact I've finished this one already but they are short books. This one had me gasping and crying all the way through. And that cliffhanger???! Goddamn

My favorite of the series so far

My favorite book in this series so far. We get so much more of the relationship between the two main characters as well as the friendships between everyone. We get to see everyone working together ❤️. That cliffhanger, though, did not see that coming.

I am absolutely loving this series! It is highly addictive and the more I read it, the more I love these characters and the found family they have built together.

Poor Cali is thrown into another dire situation where she needs to play a deadly version of Survivor in order to make it out the conquest alive. New alliances are forged, barriers are let down and it opens up all the feels. But as you race to the end, watch out because that cliffhanger will take your breathe away and leave you gasping for the next book!

If you love ACOTAR and TOG, this is a series just for you. Its like the perfect mix of both with it's own uniqueness splashed in... the perfect recipe
