Best Friends:
I loved this start to a new series. The town seemed wonderful and I loved the characters. The best friends and single parents dynamic worked out so well. I loved all of the banter and humor. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!
Audio:
The banter between these bfs is golden. Hearing it come alive through Dyess was amazing. I loved listening to these best friends discover a new dimension to their relationship. The closeness between them was portrayed in their voices. The children and the different personalities and speech abilities was phenomenal. It really gets deeply into the heart of being a mom and a wife without an identity outside the home.

Sold:
Wow. This book was incredible. More than I could have hoped for! The characters and their personal growth over the length of this book was amazing. I loved seeing Ivory come out of her shell, all the different work they got done together, Chandler finding something more than he expected, and the experiences with sweet RaeAnne. I can’t wait to read Deacon’s story!
Dyess audios are always so soothing. I hadn't listened to an audio in a decade before I started listening to these. Then, last week I listened to an audio by a different reader and I was so disappointed. I kept thinking about how the reader's voice inflections weren't true to the book and how the voices weren't as distinct and how I got lost a few times. It made me so much more thankful for Dyess and his superb reading ability and his innate way of connecting with the characters and bringing them and their situations to life. And this one? Gutted. Dyess can just twist your heart by speaking the words Gussman has strung together. I love when Dyess sings. That is something special about his audios.

A Secret Baby:
This was a wonderful installment in this single dads series. I really enjoyed it and there were so many lessons to be learned. Overcoming the past, forgiving yourself, God's plans not being our plans, and many more. I have a ton of highlights in my copy. I cannot wait to see what comes next for this family!
Audio:
Grace. It is all about giving grace and not thinking highly of ourselves because of the grace afforded us. I just love Dyess' audios. They are so relaxing and peaceful. His smooth voice flowingly provides such adept distinction for all of the characters you get lost in the story.

The Beast Gets His Cowgirl:
Wow. This book really rugged at my heartstrings. So much pain, and as a mother of a daughter and a son, some parts of this book hit me extra hard. I loved these characters. This single father series of brothers is incredible. I couldn’t ask for a better book. In fact, I stayed up all night reading it! And, if the next book was available, I might’ve grabbed it and started it too. I never want these stories to end.
Audio:
I totally wasn’t expecting the accent and it floored me. Dyess did a wonderful accent plus adding it as a female voice? Phew! He never ceases to amaze me with his phenomenal work.

A Marriage of Convenience:
I loved this installment in this single dads series. There were some crazy moments! I really liked the marriage of convenience angle and how these two families came together and grew as the story built. I’m gonna be so sad when all the brothers are married off!
Audiobook addition:
Wow. This is one of my favorite books for storyline purposes with all of the children. It was so impressive how one person did so much with two adult mains, and 10 children, not to mention the layered singing! Hands down, the most impressive audio I have listened to.

A Second Chance:
I loved watching The Parent Trap when growing up and I loved how this book had a bit of that feel. I liked the look into marriage and motives and how flaws and hasty tongues were showcased. I’m also thrilled to find out that this isn’t the last book of the series!

A Mistletoe Mishap:
A sweet, holiday slow burn romance. I liked these characters and their examining of themselves and what past experiences have done to them - and what things need to change. Great characters and I liked the tie in with the Hudsons, though it made me ache.

His Best Friend's Sister:
Alcohol. Hospice. Death. Kids. So much covered in this book from multiple angles. It was well written and I breezed through it.

Best Friends in the Show Me State [My Dearest Marlow]
Whether stories about Cowboys, Bad Boys or something else, Jessie Gussman tells a great story! These heartwarming characters will take up residence in your life. The humor she includes really adds to the story. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.
Sold in the Show Me State [My Dearest Ivory]
Jessie Gussman writes the best stories and this one is no exception! Wonderful characters and story line! I thoroughly enjoyed the book and would highly recommend it. The concept of a series of books about brothers who are single dads is unique.
A Secret Baby in the Show Me State [My Dearest Blair]
Jessie Gussman does it again. What a great story! She shows God’s perfect timing and forgiveness at work for sure in this book. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it.

The Beast Gets His Cowgirl in the Show Me State [My Dearest Madeline]
Jessie Gussman knows how to tell a great story, and how to incorporate problems for her characters to solve. This book is no exception. She also adds faith to assist the plot and her characters in overcoming their hardships. This book is a great addition to this series!
A Marriage of Convenience in the Show Me State [My Dearest Waverly]
The plot is interesting and this story is a great addition to this series. Books can be read independently, but are each about brothers who are single dads. Each one has a different set of circumstances and each has a unique personality.
A Second Chance in the Show Me Sate [My Dearest Emerson]
I enjoyed the unusual situation of separated parents with a set of twins who got traded back and forth between parents. I especially liked the way the boys worked to get their parents to discuss their problems and find a solution. Great read.
A Mistletoe Mishap in the Show Me State [My Dearest Reagan]
I enjoyed this Christmas themed book by Jessie Gussman. She incorporates themes of family, acceptance, self-concept, and handling death. The plot held my interest and kept me turning pages.
His Best Friend’s Sister in the Show Me State [My Dearest Athena]
Great story line in this new book by Jessie Gussman. Jessie is great about using common problems as the basis for her books. This one features an alcoholic who learns he has a son whose mother is dying. How he wakes up and works through the reasons for his addiction are interesting and a great part of the story.

More Suspects Than An Agatha Christie Novel!

This is Book 3 of "Bacon, Bodyguards, and Ballistics", written by Karen McSpade. This episode has Piper and the Delta Queens pretty much figuring out that the three plumbers are innocent of the high-end art theft at the Bancroft Manor. However, the clue that the three plumbers were hired to fix the plumbing at the mansions name was Jay and they only communicated with Jay through emails. Now there are several different people in this episode whose names begin with the letter J, including a bartender, A former chef, and another guy with a boat named the Jubilee. Of course, the sheriff's name is Jake, but we ALL know he's not the art thief. Then there is the married couple who are seemingly always following the ladies around; are they guilty or innocent? They were also at that dog show. Then there are the twins, Marco and Max, that the ladies supposedly saved in the mansions tunnel. They had been tied up and gagged, but there is something suspicious about them. But if they are guilty of the art heist, then who tied them up and gagged them? Then one of the twins is murdered and found floating in the river. He was I.D.d as Marco, but what if the other twin killed him, changed I.D.'s, and is pretending to be Max? It could happen, you know! Please forgive me. I read way, way too many murder mysteries, so my mind is always coming up with certain scenarios. The book is a continuation story, so the murderer and art thief are not discovered in this episode. The last chapter continues Nancy and Morgan's story from Book 2's last chapter. Now Chief Hobbes is involved because Nancy drove, with broken ribs from the kidnappers, to the chief's house, and he makes plans foe him, Nancy, and Morgan to go to Savory, Alabama to save Piper. Will they make it there before the bad guys reach Alabama? I gave this episode 5 stars and will read Book 4 now.

Great series of stories. The characters are heartwarming. Some of their stories are simply heartbreaking yet God’s love, grace and provision shines through. The hymns that are sung to quiet nervous, noisy children or simply quiet an unsettled heart add so much. You just have to sing along. Jessie Gussman’s special talents in weaving a charming, delightful, loving storylines along with sweet HEA make you read them several times over.

Really good

I enjoyed every one of these stories. Each one is unique and has important issues that it addresses in a really constructive manner. It was a real page turner for me, as there is always something going on. Would have loved to have the whole series to read in a box set; to read all the stories together. Am so glad i got this set. Highly recommend it, for a good read plus good insights and suggestions on how to deal with loss etc.

Life situations and lessons from in really good story form.

I enjoy reading about families and characters that overcome challenges. These books show the.reader the power of God and the faith communities that make a difference.

I appreciated that there were examples and encouragement during difficult situations without preachy sermons indicating one must do this or that. Each character had to come to his own conclusions.

These books are a good choice for anyone to enjoy

The Hudson boys and a few friends find true love.

That sounds kind of corny. So what? It was thoroughly enjoyable corn. I alternated each story between other reads for a change of pace (except when I just couldn't resist continuing after the teaser in each epilogue). Read, enjoy, and be blessed.

Cowboy Crossing Box Set

I could recommend this set of books to anyone who likes stories set around a small rural township, with plenty of cowboys and many other strong interesting and entertaining characters. Christian beliefs are portrayed strongly throughout the stories and it is so easy to read on long past bedtime.😀

Beautiful Series

I throughly enjoyed this series. It was refreshing to be able to read some Christian romance books. And for most of them to be a family trilogy or family friends made them even better. I recommend this book series.

Lessons learned

Each of these stories had a good lesson in them. I appreciate the way Jessie Gussman teaches through the characters in her stories. Through tragedy and hardship, people were learning to put their faith in God and to enjoy the benefits of His blessing.

I loved the characters, their faith in God and their finding true and lasting love.
On the other hand the books also were morbid with family members being struck down with various cancers or through fire, accidents and other serious illnesses all leading to death.
