A set of simple allegories with a combination of old-fashioned and line-drawn illustrations, Pearables, Vol. 1 features 8 stories for young children that preach against modern music, birth control, public schools, TV, tolerance, environmentalism, and other cultural areas. Large font and uncomplicated vocabulary make the parables accessible for any age, while the direct connection between the King and His Kingdom make all allegories easy to comprehend.
Stories Include: # The Governor's Plot (Homeschooling) # The Conquered Village (Denying the World) # The New Command (Loving Others) # The Viewing Box (TV & Entertainment) # You Can't Shoot the Bears (Animal Rights) # The Alchemist (Women & children at home) # The House the World Built (Public Schools) # The Beauty (Inner Beauty vs. Outward)
This has wonderful stories in it. We borrowed the book to read just one story out of it but ended up reading the whole book during our nap time. We just kept wanting more. Can't wait to read the other Pearables books.
