Inspector Winter #10 (the last one), read in Finnish as my sister gave me her copy a while back.
I'd read Sun and Shadows (#3) before; that was good too. Quite a few of the same elements, like the Swedish classes (of society), interesting characters, same a bit claustrophobic feel, and again, the Swedish connection to Costa Del Sol.
Two women are found dead, apparently killed by their boyfriends, and a man is found dead in Winter's beach. Something in the dead women's apartments and the similarities of the cases catches the attention of a colleague of Winter, Gerda. Add a bunch of interesting characters, enough action, and supplement it with interesting bits and pieces about Sweden, Swedish culture, habits, foods, classes (of society, especially the old money). Solid good.
However, I'd be curious to try this in English (since I don't read Swedish). The dialogs in Finnish were quite odd. I guess I could imagine them in other languages. Languagewise, the translation seemed fine - but can I say that when the dialogs are something I can't imagine anyone saying in that language? Maybe it's again a case of those "how do you say [something] in Finnish?" -> "you just don't say that in Finnish."
