Lesley dreamed of being a writer, but studied law as her mother insisted she had "something to fall back on". Since joining Usborne Publishing, she has written and edited hundreds of books, from funny rhyming stories to an award-winning history book. Nowadays, she is often found recording books, too, in Usborne's very own recording studio.

Oli huvitav ja hea raamat. Rooma sõdurina ellujäämine ei ole kerge, kui keiser sind ohverdab impeeriumi laiendamise nimel. Siin oli veel igasuguseid omapäraseid asju, nt spaad, garnisoni elukorraldus jmt. Siit raamatust saab päris hea ülevaate, milline oli ühe sõduri elu ammusel Rooma riigi ajal.

This book comes with high recommendation to those interested in the adventures of Asterix and Obelix.
For years have I wondered about the Romans and their army units trying to conquer the Gallia, but never have I bothered to search for the meaning of these terms. Well, better late than never, as they say. Ever so grateful to Lesley for explaining it all regarding Roman armie in a very visual manner and easy to understand for everyone.
Interested in the ancient history of Italy only? No worries, it's still a fun book to read with some useful information inside it ;)
