Basically I became interested in becoming a writer after reading Terry McMillan’s novel Disappearing Acts. In 2004 my author dreams were realized via the release of my controversial debut novel My Daughter’s Boyfriend, the story of a 34-year old single mother that becomes attracted to her teenage daughter’s boyfriend.
I love writing about marriage, infidelity, juicy love triangles, family, romance, women's issues, and male/female relationships. It never gets boring to write about what human beings go through.
My novels make you think and feel! If it doesn't do that, I haven't done my job.
My novels/interviews have been featured in USA Today, Black Beat Magazine, Publishers Weekly, Jewel Magazine, Today's Black Woman, Vibe Vixen, Quarterly Black Review, Booking Matters Magazine, Essence magazine, Ebony magazine, Black Expressions Book Club, among others.
This book was good I listened to it on audible. Although a bit slow for me it picked up towards the middle of the book. When the mistress becomes the wife Nicole get more than she bargained for when she marries the man she took from another woman.
Between spilling secrets, hiring hit men, and reformed philanders doing the perp walk down the wedding aisle, Rax rewrites the age-old adultery script. If Nathaniel Hawthorne’s 1850s novel was published today, the scorned female protagonist would start a TwitHub, with the hashtag #SideChicksMatter.
In the Revenge of the Mistress, the idyllic matrimonial union goes left, with a swiftness. If the next 36 days is any indication, Nicole Greene no longer remembers what is means to be a side chick. With her devious, yet magnificently scrupulous, ways, she pledges never become the “modern-day” slacker wife.
March 12 - the day only seen in fairytales - is the beginning of the end for the new Mrs. Rashad Eason. Having schemed and seduced her way into his arms, she cannot live up to what Rashad ultimately desires. Realizing this after several emotional disasters, he turns to the former Mrs. Eason, leaving Nicole to fall into the lovingly fatal arms of Ajalon. Sealing her fate, Nicole fails to understand that certain memories should serve as a warning of what should be left alone. With vivid flashbacks of her past, she devises a plan to make sure no one can have what she had.
Written with compelling power, this book speaks to the sanctity and covenant of marriage. Moreover, as the story unfolds, the delicate nature of marriage and its inevitable susceptibility to the machinations of “side chicks” jumps off the page. Furthermore, Rax emphasizes the slippery slope of love and the revolving intensity existing between love and hate. The message is clear - purloined desires, even those acquired through illegal means, have the power to kill.
Nicole finally got what she wanted...to become Mrs. Rashad Eason, but is it all that she has imagined it to be. New truck, new house and all the shopping that her heart can tolerate…and she's still not happy. She results to a level of revenge that will change her life…FOREVER!
Kiara had moved on with her life, but is she still in love with her ex-husband Rashad? Only time, and her heart, will tell. She also has to deal with her new-found love, Eddison, and the secret that he's keeping.
This book is the final installment of the Love and Revenge Series. It answers all many of the questions left unanswered in "My Married Boyfriend." I highly recommend this book and the series and give it
Revenge of The Mistress is the third in the love and revenge series. Nicole has managed to get the life and man she has always wanted, but what will she have to do to keep the life she has always dreamed of. Most of the time the Mistress does not become the wife but Nichole had a different turnout. What will happen when Rashad comes to his senses and realize Nicole is not the one for him. This was a really good book and I enjoyed the series. I was really rooting for Rashad and Kiara. I highly recommend this series you will enjoy each book. Victorious Ladies Reading Book Club was offered an advanced copy for an honest review.
Some of the dialogue didn't appeal to me, it just seemed a little basic and corny, it didn't flow like I imagined these people would interact with one another. I guess I just didn't feel the genuineness or something. I pushed through. Not sure if this is the last in this series but if it's not, I'm not sure I will read the next part. I will say that I consistently didn't like Nicole throughout the series and had my moments of dislike for Kiara and Alexis but they short lived. Rashad had me going back and forth between dislike and confusion... he was just too confused himself but also seemed to be fearful of being alone. He'd rather settle then be alone and get himself together and let love happen when it does, sad. Messy scenario all around, but such is life. I'd recommend the series to anyone who enjoys drama, love triangles (or squares), betrayal and a little violence wrapped up together.
The conclusion of the story did not a disappoint. Rashad Easton has hurt three women and they all hate him for the various things he has done to them i.e. divorce, money, etc. Nicole is a selfish little brat who I believe has some serious mental issues. She lacks accountability and does not see it partially as a downfall of the relationship with Rashad, family, or friends. Kiara has mixed feelings; she cannot accept the divorce unless she is mad at Rashad. She still cares for ex husband but is she stringing Eddy along? Alexis is Rashad's confident. Is he wrong about sharing his feelings about his current and ex-wife to his former mistress? Alajon plays devil advocate since he knows everyone's dirty little secrets. Everyone is suspect at some point. Hell has no fury like a woman scorned!
I read all 3 books in this series.... Some of the story lines did not make sense like, why did Rashad have so many kids? why wasn't Kiara more aware of her husband's side chics? How is it that Alexis immediately saw the light and Nicole didn't? why did Kiara automatically want Rashad killed and then changed her mind? Why would Ajalon have a change of heart and turn on Nicole so quickly over a few thousand dollars? Since when did it only cost $2500 to kill someone? This was my first time reading this author; it won't be last.... I still enjoyed her stories....
This story nicely continues where last left off. Nicole and Rashad are getting married and does she really love him or lpve his money. Alexis is trying to focus on raising her daughter and has found love. Rashad realizes he may have jumped the gun when he sees he is still in love with Kiara. Without giving it away this book is full of drama as Rashad and his baby mommas try to coexist. You will not be disappointed.
(ebook edition). What goes around comes around! Nicole had a difficult childhood especially after her father walked out. All she wanted was a "good" man like Rashad Eason. Good man??? Rashad cheated on his wife Kiara, with two of her employees, one being Nicole, so how "good" was he? And then Nicole acts like she has no responsibility for her part in this hot mess. She may be the wife now but not too long ago SHE was the side-chick!
I listened to the previous two books and thought not realistic but okay. Then I started listening to this one and the narrator drove me insane. It was something about her voice that made me cringe. I made it through the first two discs (I listen in my car during my work commute) and just gave up and put the last disc in so I could see how the story ended. Maybe I will go back eventually and read the chapters from a hard copy.
Getting revenge is sweet when it doesn't involve hurting people, but that's what payback is about, hurting who hurt you,but then the consequences of those actions can hurt the worst as in this story. Rashad & Nicole both got their just desserts!
Good book, I enjoyed the complete series! The book wrapped up lovely! I was a little sad at Rashad's death and I did wish that Nichole knew he had changed his mind so she could have felt even lower than she did. But other than that, I have no complaints! This was my first series from this author, I give her a two thumbs up and would reread again!

I truly recommend this series, it's heart throbbing effect really makes you think about life, and how fast things can change. Overall the book is a must to read. Cudos to the author.
Loved this book this was the last one in the installment and I was glad to see Nicole get what she deserved but Rashad definitely didn't deserve what he got.

Ms. Rax did a great job wrapping up the series. Even though this is the last book in the Love & Revenge series...I could see another book or two with a few of the characters. A continuation of their story. Overall, I enjoyed this book. There were times when I wanted to punch Nicole in the face and their were other times when I wanted to give her a hug. She is a very complexed young lady. If you love reading drama, you’ll definitely love this book.
