Well, well well. That was not what I expected ..... at all. This is how you write YA/NA and do it well. Absolutely fantastic and I am SO glad I waited till Walkwas out before reading this, else I would have done my E-Reader some serious damage.
The author warns in the blurb this is going to hurt, she was not wrong. For a girl who is not a novella fan and loathes cliffhangers, this was fantastic and I bloody loved it.

Loved, loved, loved this book! I devoured it! And even though I heeded the author's warning that it was going to hurt, I already knew what was going to happen from the previous book, so there was nothing shocking coming. But what was shocking were the actual details of the events leading to the heartbreak! Believe me, there is a whole other story here with regard to Stone, Conway, and Erin. Was I a little anxious getting to that point? Yes, I absolutely was anxious and scared for all of them. Was it a heartbreaker? Yes, it was. But, Erin was not what I was expecting, and she had her very own struggles she was dealing with that no one knew about.
Great, great series! Now, I'm moving onto Walk because I have to know what happens with Stone! And then I will pout and cry while I wait for Edge and Conway's story coming out in July!

Short but powerful. We get to know the boys, Con and Stone, so much better. It's the perfect background story to make readers interested in the next two series releases.

Ok Cora Brent was right...this one hurt but it was a total necessity. The Gentry Boys became a favorite of mine as soon as I read the first book. I then fell in love with Stone and Conway in Hold. This one tells the actual story of the events in Hold. I can't give many details without giving spoilers but I will say my heart broke for all the characters in this one. I can't wait for each of their stories to come out.
While the story is heartbreaking, the writing was exceptional. I highly recommend this entire series.

okay so it's not often that I don't have to reread a whole series before I read the most recent, but not with this series I remember it all! love these Gentry's.
But I digress!
so I was given this arc for an honest review. I LOVED it! although we knew how it ended, we didn't know how we got there, now we do, and what a story. Sad but soooo good.
Cora Brent writes these characters and it's obvious she loves each and every one, which makes us as readers fall head over heels also. it's a gift. one not all authors achieve for me.

Cora Brent is a genius!With every Gentry book I'm thinking,ok this can't be toped or gettin better.No I'm so wrong,every single book is better then the other.And Cross was the beginning of two young Gentry's and this big tragedy in their young life's.I'm not sure how this boys will ever recover from this what happened especially Conway.This series are amazing and beautiful written romance.Highly recommend it!I just can't get over Erin.Her father must be wrecked.And it's so true,never walk away from someone you love in a fight,never!

Cross provides us with a look inside the complicated relationship between brothers Conway and Stone and their neighbour Erin. It ties up loose ends we had after reading the previous book Hold.

I skipped this one for over a year, because I'm just not into love triangles and judging by the way the last one ended and cover of this one, I just thought for sure, this was a triangle between brothers that I couldn't stand it if they had animosity towards each other.
Fair warning, Cora Brent did tell us that she was going to break our hearts in this one and she did.
For me though, it was only because of them boys. Con and his brother Stone...
Don't get me wrong, I didn't want Erin to die, (not even a spoiler because come on...it was in the last book), but I never connected with her. She was selfish, in my opinion... Is that crazy? Am I just in a mood tonight or something? Maybe... but I just didn't get the appeal...
First love and all that? Sure, I was gutted for Con that he lost her, but I hated every second of the doubt that I had between her and Stone. I didn't want to think that Stone would do that to his brother and in the end, I was right.... We had to get to the VERY end to figure it out though and that drove me crazy and made me wonder what reason's by the end I'd have to not like the chick.....
I dunno... it was a heartbreaking story. I hated how terribly the boys' mom treated them, Conway especially. I hate that he's had so much bad in his life and then the two things he loved most in the world he doubted and then lost and then I hated that he was going through the loss of both of them without Stone.
I cannot wait to see what happens next. I hope they both get everything they deserve and I cannot wait to watch it happen.

Cora Brent outdid herself yet again with Cross....this book was everything she warned us about and more. Reading the backstory on these 3 young people (Con, Stone & Erin) made everything more real. I mean in "Hold" you knew there was an accident, you knew the outcome but you didn't know everything that led to it all. Personally for me by having Erin's POV, it made everything hit you more, it meant more cause you got to know her, you got to know what was going on inside her & you began to care for her so when everything went down it hit you a hell of alot harder than it would've if it had've just been the 2 boys POV. As much as I hated the outcome of this book & wish it had've turned out different, I'm glad I read & I definitely would recommend it to anyone who hasn't, this book is worth checking out, hell the whole series is worth reading.

his book serves as a crossover from the stories about the Gentry triplets Cord, Creed, and Chase and their cousin Deck to the individual stories of the younger Gentry cousins Stone and Conway. The bare bones of the back story of Stone, Con and Evie, the girl next door, were already introduced, but this novella fills in the heartbreaking details of what really led up to the tragic intermingling of these young lies. On the one hand, I felt vindicated by my belief in one brother, but the pain, injustice, tragedy and separation just broke my heart for both brothers and Evie. This series unbelievably just keeps getting better and better. A tender, poignant, tragic, heartrending story!Can't wait to read Stone and Con's individual books!

This was a introduction into the next books, gives you more background of Erin,stonewall and Conway... I really love all the Gentry boys... They were still in high school and we learn what really happened between Erin and stonewall on the night everything went wrong... I knew that he wouldn't have cheated with his brothers girl.. It's sad to say but I didn't really like Erin she was selfish she should have just come clean about her secret... I figured it out pretty easily... Now I can't wait to read the next books and see how everything works out!!!

Omg! Poor Erin had so much living left to do. Conway and Stonewalls relationship was tested in a way it has never been tested before. How can a brothers bond fight through this misunderstanding? And what does one do when they find out the truth about family rumors like Conway did? This was an amazing novella!

I have to say I was nervous to read this book knowing what the outcome was from reading the Gentry Boys series in order. I'm so glad I did because the raw emotions that Cora Brent put into this story is amazing. Stone, Conway, and Erin all come from some kind of pain and the way this ended was not what I expected. I can't wait to continue reading this series and more from Cora Brent.

I liked the idea of things not being what they seemed. For a moment I thought CB regretted what she wrote before and was trying to turn it around, but the more I read the more I realized that this story was all about perception, and how our insecurities can cloud our judgement.
It was sad but powerful, now I need to read the next ones.

Even though we already knew what was going to happen, living this from the perspective of Con and Erin made everything a thousand times sadder... Such a good sad story, so powerful! I really enjoyed getting to know the brothers a little bit more and their relationship too, can't wait to read their stories

I am in love with the Gentry boys, and I'm glad we have more to meet. This is such a heartbreaking story, which you know part of from the other Gentry books, but this one gives a lot of explanation on the way things happened.

Cross heartbreak
Wow....when I read the author's warning in the beginning I knew it was gonna be bad. This novel was fabulous even with the heartbreak. I can't wait to read the next one.

This is not a HEA read, yet I am so glad to have experienced this story. It will break a readers heart. I am looking forward to reading the next books in this series to find out if Cora Brent puts it back together. The Gentry brothers need a HEA ending.

Well. That's not what I expected at all. On reading about the accident initially, I was upset (kinda) but reading this and getting more of the back story...it really did hurt, just like she said it would.

This just made the last book even sadder
This series is so...........perfect.
I thought i was sad that the triplets were basically coming to an end in the series but stone and con man are the triplets and Declan all wrapped in two. I love it.

After seeing a bit of them in the last Gentry bus bok, it was good to get more of n insight to Stonewall, Conway and Erin. Especially as how it looked in the last book is definitely not be t actually was. Excited to read their individual stories!

Still unclear
I'm slightly disappointed because even though I know much more of what happened that day now I still don't know why if Stone wouldn't race he still ended up racing. There are still too many secrets.

Honestly I was putting it off for a long time, I thought it was going to be a dramatic story but it turned out to have some very interesting characters. Conway a sweet guy with feelings on the surface, Stone a little more wild, reckless
