This is the seventh book I’ve read in this series, which goes from strength to strength. As always, it includes stimulating questions both before and after the story, together with prompts for the reader to help them write their own continuation/spin-off. There were a couple of typos (including one missing word), but otherwise Taylor Sapp’s writing remains as strong and imaginative as ever. I mean, a university class where you study aspects of the past by actually visiting that time period! Who wouldn’t sign up for that?!
Interesting use of time travel in this language learner story
An engaging tale of history a class sending students back in time. The thought-provoking question before reading prepare the reader/learner to read with comprehension and the glossary after is useful. The questions after and having the reader write are excellent language skill-building tools.
Interesting take on the quantum leap storyline mixed with time travel. The idea of meeting Genghis Khan to pick his brain is a fascinating one as well as the concept of his perception of women during that time. Fun series.
The story is well written for the grade school. It has a glossary and questionnaire at the end which is helpful. One note, for such a short story, I thought there was too much of a premise and not enough about Khan and his history.
