This book tells that a leopard is adopted by the owner as a black cat. In order to pay a debt of gratitude, the leopard shepherds dutifully but cannot resist the ferocity of a carnivore, thus suffers inner struggles and behaves strangely. In addition to the Shepherd Leopard, the book also includes another three short stories and novellas of Shen Shixi, namely The Forced Jackal, the Huge Titi, and the Nanny Python.
