"If Rob Zombie directed Home Alone it'd look a lot like this..."Rem is a man with a past and secrets to keep. That said, his life was looking pretty sweet now he’d found himself a girlfriend, a job and settled into the happy anonymity of life in a small mountain town. With his luck, he knew it couldn’t last…Boy was he right…A bunch of murderous rednecks with delusions of grandeur decide to go on a thrill kill murder spree and Rem finds himself squarely in their firing line.Cornered and cut off from help, Rem and a small group of locals are forced to make a stand and bring down the frenzied killers before they’re added to the growing list of victims.Praise for If You’re Not One Percent“You’ll not be able to put the book down until the last page turns…”“This book would fit right in as an ongoing Cinemax series nestled right between Banshee and Quarry. If You're Not One Percent is not to be missed.”“This book is crazy. It's like a hillbilly Assault on Precinct 13 or Straw Dogs with a larger cast. It's full speed ahead on this twisty road. Blood is shed and nobody is spared in this inventive and unique thriller.”“If you like non-stop action, Todd Morr is the author to read. Lots of action, with doses of humor thrown in for good measure. A fast paced read that keeps you glued to the page.”“This book is weird. I have no idea why I read it, but it was hard to put down…”“It's a classic. Snatch it up.”

With the offered premise of "if Home Alone had been written by Rob Zombie" and the and immediate offer of a link to purchase this ebook without giving Bezos his cut (I'm well aware of the irony of making this statement on a platform owned by the Zon), Morr sent his book to the top of my TBR pile.
As it turns out it was just the change of pace I needed.

It's a violent little story with just enough character exposition and development to make you care a little and a lot of almost goofy charm from the over the top villains. It's not that deep but it's certainly that fun!

Makes "Straw Dogs" and "Assault on Precinct 13" look like Little Lord Fauntleroy. After reading another of Todd Morr's books ("Jesus Saves, Satan Invests"), I described it as "an explosive chain of mortal hand-to-hand combats and gun battles." Morr outdoes himself here with assorted other weapons, many of them improvised. Again, the hallmark of his extended fight scenes is how remarkably logical they are. Things go wrong often, which should be the norm but really isn't, and the resultant desperate scrambles are what ratchet up the tension.

Rem is an excellent tough guy and Delany proves herself to be a heck of a tough woman. The bad guys (plus one bad girl and two bad dogs) brew up a great -- and sanguinary! -- battle royale.

Todd Morr's If You're Not One Percent is a fast-paced, crime-ridden, shot of adrenaline with a chaser of crank. When Rem and Delaney inadvertently wind up in the cross hairs of a small-town band of psychopaths bent on bloody mayhem, they have to match the killers' level of brutality and do some horrible things just to survive. What the killers don't know is that Rem has a secret past and a few unexpected tricks up his sleeve. This book contains a home invasion/siege sequence that is unlike anything I've read. I'd compare it to the movie Home Alone if it were directed by Rob Zombie. I kid you not. Be forewarned, once you get to this scene, carve out another hour or so, because you will not be able to put the book down until the last page turns.

Gritty, violent, relentless, Morr captures action scenes like nobody else out there. If You're Not One Percent (much like Morr's previous work, Jesus Saves, Satan Invests) reminds me of some of the best crime/action TV out there. This book would fit right in as an ongoing Cinemax series nestled right between Banshee and Quarry. If You're Not One Percent is not to be missed.

Morr keeps things moving and doesn't waste a word in this hardboiled thrill ride. Plenty of sharp dialogue and dark humor, too. Highly recommended.

A man with a dark past hides out in a small town but is dragged into a world of violence by a group of local psychopaths. If You’re Not One Percent is brilliant, blistering, hardboiled, grindhouse action. A belter. I loved it.

Fast action

Fast and exciting read. Morr delivers great dialogue and action. Bad guys as I suspect many really are - dumb, lacking morals but, most of all, dangerous against interesting protagonists (who I look forward to.learning more about).

Fast pace, short chapters, and a hyperviolent, action-packed siege. All great stuff.

The pace kept me reading, but I certainly would have been more invested in the outcome if I'd known a little more about Rem other than the fact that he's a tough stranger from out of town. But, ultimately, I tore through this very quickly, which is a testament to Morr's writing because...

The edition I read did not seem to have been proofread. Like, at all. Commas are deployed apparently at random, apostrophes sometimes just show up in words that end in S, and names are spelled differently in different parts of the book. I'm not going to ding a book for having a handful of typos, but it does take me out of the story when there are a handful of typos in every paragraph. I honestly wondered if someone sent the wrong version of the file to the printer by mistake.

So--if you're looking for a mean, violent, faced-paced siege thriller and you can overlook rampant typos, pick this one up.,

There are some messed up people in this world, and fiction-wise, this story is more or less the same. Brings me to Damien, Todd Morr's Big Bad from If You're Not One Percent, and a character I came to despise, which of course was the intent. Bodies abound, and humour as well, a good time was had in this, the first book I have read by Mr. Morr. All told, I'll be back for more. Go forth. Seek out. Purchase and enjoy.

I’m now officially a fan of Todd Morr

This is the third book I have read by Todd Morr and I can’t say I have been disappointed by any of them. Todd Morr writes his stories with a hook that grabs you like a good song. His plot and character development keeps you in its grasp from beginning to end.
