Breaking Him

Rate this book
Folks in town call him a monster—say he’s dangerous. But I know him simply as Elijah Hays, the quiet, gentle giant who works with the horses on my ranch. I can feel him watching me, that steady intense gaze making me crave things I don’t quite understand, burn in a way that frightens me. He’s always kept his distance…until that night.

I remember him coming to my rescue, me following him into the barn, giving him his first taste of a woman, and his inexperienced yet barely reined touch turning me to ash.

Now all I can think about is exposing the dark desire I see deep inside him—having him turn those dark desires on me. That low, gritty voice rasping orders in my ear. Those huge, rough hands holding me down when a storm blows in.

I want his surrender. His control. I want to break him…and have him break me…

Dayum! This was so much better than I had expected. And the best part is that this little gem was simply awesome and really, real hot! Ever since I’ve read the blurb I knew I had to read this one as soon as possible, mainly because the idea of a virgin hero intrigued me very much. I can’t remember the last time I’ve read an erotica or any other genre where the hero is not experienced between the sheets. Needless to say, this was a very nice change and while I’m not a fan of virgin heroes, I enjoyed this one very much.

'Breaking Him' tells the story of Abigail who has lived all her life on her father ranch in Montana. Ever since her father passed away six months ago she struggles to keep her ranch afloat. The fact that the town’s bank manager seems to hate her, expecting for her to fail to take her ranch doesn’t help Abigail’s situation. She’s lucky enough to have a good ranch help, Elijah, a man who despite the rumors in town he’s a good, gentle man who respects and helps her whenever she needs it.

“I trusted him with my body completely. His size, his quiet nature, his past and fears, none of that could hide his beautiful soul. He’d never hurt me. Ever.”

Eli had worked for Abi and her father for twelve months. Everyone in town, including Abigail knows about his tragic past. Eli is a little tortured man, a man of few words who despite his huge size he’s very gentle with the horses he works with. He knows who’s the boss on the ranch, so he’s distant and polite, but for Abi he’s a mystery.

"The strong and sudden urge to force him to react, to tempt him past his control—to climb that massive, ripped body, wrap my thighs around his hips, and hang on while he bucked into me like an ornery bull, snarling and grunting until we were both spent—was near overwhelming."

Even if Abi and Eli have always had a professional relationship, she always lusted after him, after his body, after his touch. Their relationship between them changes one night when Eli comes to Aby’s rescue and Aby is more than ready to show him in the best possible way her gratitude. Things evolve from one kiss to one hot passionate night together and Abi becomes more and more infatuated with Eli and Eli with her.

“You're my salvation, Abigail," he said, voice low and guttural, each word punctuated with an almost violent thrust of his hips. "Right here, inside you, I'm redeemed. I'm the man you need. I'm yours and you're MINE."

Holy sh*t!! What a nice, hot as hell read this one turned out to be! The steam aspect was without a doubt my favorite here, not only because was predominant, but also because it was fantastically done. Mrs. Gray clearly knows how to write a passionate sex scene. These two characters’ sexy times were plenty, hot as hell and for sure will leave you hot and bothered. I found this story to be very gripping and not only because it’s an erotic romance, but also because our hero was more intriguing than I had expected.

“You're the only face I see anymore, Abigail. The only woman I've ever wanted.”

Eli was a fantastic hero and despite the book short-ish length was pretty well portrayed. I loved the way he respected Abi and how sweet, caring, protective he was with her as the story unfolded and I loved his dominant side. Abi was also a great heroine and I really liked her. I loved the way she stood by Eli and how thoughtful and considerate she was at times. These two complemented each other in a really great way and I enjoyed all their scenes together- sexy or not.

Personally I think these two characters’ relationship progressed a little too fast. I really would have liked the story to be longer and read more about them.

Overall, a fantastic read!

This was a super cute, super steamy little number and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Eli was to die for.

Fans of Alexa Riley will love this one. Somewhat short, but with some surprising depth to it, I'll definitely be looking for more from this author.

Breaking Him is a stand alone fairly short story by Sherilee Gray. This is part of the Entangled Scorched line. I was generously provided with this book in exchange for an honest review by the author.

 :

Abigail Smith has lived on the ranch in Deep River, Montana her entire life. Her mother left when she was little and it’s always been just her and her dad. About a year ago they took on a ranch hand, Elijah Hays. From the start, Abi has been fascinated with Eli. He is a huge man but his touch with the horses he works with are beyond gentle. She can’t help but wonder how those hands would feel on her body.

Sexy cowboys everywhere should go shirtless in the barn. :):

The towns people fear Eli. He has a past, one that he was a victim in. But his quiet way and huge size make him a favorite subject for the town gossips. But Abi saw what no one else saw, his soul, and his heart.

“His size, his quiet nature, his past and fears, none of that could hide his beautiful soul. He’d never hurt me. Ever.”

 :

Six months ago Abi lost her father. Now it’s just she and Eli running the ranch and trying to keep it afloat. They are in the midst of a drought and are struggling to make their bank payments. It doesn’t help that the bank manager seems to hate her and is just looking for a way to take her ranch.

 :

The attraction between Abi and Eli becomes too much to deny. Eli has never been with a woman before and Abi slowly builds his confidence and shows him what to do. It doesn’t take long for Eli to discover his darker side and Abi loves it. These two together are hotter than hot. But what happens when the townspeople discover what is going on? Will they trust in Abi’s judgement and stand beside her or will they turn against her?

love on horseback:

I absolutely loved this story. I love that Sherilee Gray wrote this as part of Entangled’s Scorched line. I would give the heat level a twelve rating with ten being the highest! Abi and Eli’s story is sweet, hot and heart breaking, all at the same time. If you’ve never read any of Sherilee’s books, I encourage you to give any of them a try. Every single one of them is amazing.

“Thank you, angel, for give me you.”
“You don’t need to thank me, I was always meant to be yours.”

You're my salvation, Abigail," he said, voice low and guttural, each word punctuated with an almost violent thrust of his hips. "Right here, inside you, I'm redeemed. I'm the man you need. I'm yours and you're MINE."

Well, hello there, Sherilee Gray, and welcome to my auto buy list. I'm not sure what made me read this book; whether it was the blurb or the cover or a combination of both that intrigued me, but man oh man am I glad I gave this a shot. At just under 200 pages, this packs a heck of a punch. There's a perfect mix of sizzling hot passion with emotion and character development.

I'll admit, I'm not a reader that typically enjoys virgin heroes, and the few that I have read about I wasn't a big fan. There was either too much cheese or insta love and my inner pervert felt her lady balls shrivel up and die in the process. What? Don't judge me. At least I wave my freak flag proudly. But I digress.

Elijah Hays was quite possible the best virgin hero I've ever read. Period. Bar none. His sexual progression and pent up kinks were incredibly realistic and easy to connect to. The author did an incredible job creating a broken hero with just the right amount of vulnerability, and yet managing to instill him with just the right touch of sexual edge. It was absolutely delicious.
You're the only face I see anymore, Abigail. The only woman I've ever wanted.

Abigail was an amazing heroine. I love a woman that isn't afraid to own her sexuality and admit what she wants. I adored the way she stood by Elijah when no one else did and the way she seemed to just understand and accept him. They were the perfect match for one another.
His nostrils flared. "Sweetheart, I want to hold you down and fuck you so hard the walls shake."

At times I did wish we had slightly more detail on their past together and the way Elijah came to ranch and met her father. I would have also loved a bit more development on Abigail's past. There was a lot of page time dedicated to Elijah, which I loved, but I would have liked the same page time for Abigail since she was just as intriguing.

That aside, everything about this story was fantastic! The progression of the story, the tension, the development, and of course the out of this world HOT as all get out sex. These two seriously burned up the pages together. There was just the right amount of story that kept this from being just smutty fun. It was so much more than that. You'll fall for these characters just as hard as I did.

Sherilee Gray definitely has an instant fan in me now, and I'll definitely be going back to check out her entire backlist. If her other books are anything like this one was, I already know that I need to read them!

How have I not read anything by this author before??

Abigail is struggling to keep her ranch afloat after the passing of her father. Helping her out is ranchhand Elijah Hays. He is quiet, gentle, and sexy as sin. Eli has a tragic past that gets him shunned by most of the town, but Abi sees something different in the gentle giant. Stolen looks and brief touches soon ignite a fire neither can control...

description
"The strong and sudden urge to force him to react, to tempt him past his control—to climb that massive, ripped body, wrap my thighs around his hips, and hang on while he bucked into me like an ornery bull, snarling and grunting until we were both spent—was near overwhelming."

Well well well, what a surprising little gem of a book this was! I simply ADORED pretty much every minute of this. It was SMOKIN hot. Along with a nice touch of aching sweetness. Both characters were likable and fairly well rounded for this being a rather short book. It was pretty low on angst and no OW drama. There was just a touch of OM drama, but it didn't affect the couple's relationship in an overly annoying way. The hero is a virgin, and I usually roll my eyes at these older type virgin heroes, but I felt Eli's past supported the believability of him being a virgin. The heroine was not a virgin (refreshing change that).

description

I was slightly confused at the beginning of the book about who was the eldest of this couple. Eli comes across quite young at the beginning, but it is later stated that "Eli had already left high school when Abi started" so that cleared up my confusion. Now I did take half a star off because I would have liked a little more build up between Abi and Eli. We pretty much hit the sexy times right from the start. I wish we would have gotten a bit more flirting or glimpses of them as they headed towards sexyville. Alas, that was just a minor thing. Thankfully It also had a pretty sweet "2 years in the future" epilogue that wrapped things up nicely.

So overall I was VERY VERY impressed with this one. Two thumbs up from yours truly...

4.5 Stars. Before writing this review, I may or may not have needed a little cool down time **ahem**. This book is HOT ladies and gents. SCORCHING. Eli's got this amazingly perfect mix of inexperience and alpha domination that I thought was impossible. The writer was able to pull it off and made me love it! Abigail has been eying her farmhand, Eli, for a while. The townsfolk have nothing nice to say about him after something happened when he was a boy. She doesn't see him as anything but the kind sexy man that takes care of her. When they cross the line into a sensual relationship... It is absolutely awesome to "see" Eli discovering not only Abigail's sensual wants and needs but his own. Though he is not as experienced as she, these two have no problems figuring it all out and it is astronomically sexy. As individuals I liked them both, though I would've liked Abigail to have had a bit more backbone. Together, they were close to setting my nook on fire. The external conflict really didn't feel as central to the plot as the building of the relationship. I wouldn't say the plot was all that creative, but it worked. Whatever was missing there was made up in the writing. Safety: No OW/OM/Sharing, though there're a few OM interested in the h and not all are subtle about it. There is an attempted rape. No abuse.

“I need you, right now. I can’t get enough of you, darlin’. You’re all I can think about, all day, every day. When I’m inside you, I’m in heaven. And as soon as I pull out, all I’m thinking about is when I can get back in.”

After her father's death, Abigail's main concern became keeping her family's ranch up and running. Lucky for her Elijah Hayes is there to help. Tall, brooding and wicked hot Elijah.

Elijah's troubled childhood has made him a virtual recluse. If town gossip is to be believed, he's never had a woman inspect his weapon. That's right folks; Elijah is as pure as the driven snow. And it's a condition Abigail can't help but want to rectify.

I'm not going to lie to you. Roughly ninety percent of the book is this...

...and a little of this...

...and a whole lot of this.

Elijah and Abigail had an incendiary connection from the first page and that heat never died down. Normally I like a little more story with my sexy times, but I knew what I was getting into when I requested this and I'm not about to complain now. As a bonus, Breaking Him is well written and managed to make me care about the characters, despite the copious amount of naked time.

3.8 “I was always meant to be yours” stars ⭐️

A cowboy romance with a virgin and shy hero Eli who turns into a dominant lover, and a headstrong heroine Abi.

“How did you know I like tea and not coffee?”
“Same way I know you only wear your beautiful blond hair down when we go to town, or after your shower in the evening. Same way I know you’re afraid of storms and that you love to dance. I pay attention. When it comes to you, I’ve always paid attention.”

What starts as a sweet romance, soon turns so, so hot 🔥

“I want to fuck you again, Abigail. And I want to watch my come slide down your legs every time I do.”

I would have rated this a 4 ☆ based on the smut alone, but the sweetness and angst in this surprised me!

“You feel so good. So soft and warm and goddamn perfect.” He licked his lips. “Darlin’, you’re all over my hand.” I was gripping his biceps, and the muscles twitched. “I can smell you. Christ, I think I’m losing my mind, Abigail. Making you feel good, it’s all I want to do. I never want to stop.”

P.S. Thank you, Isabella for bringing this lovely book on my radar!

5 Raw Hunger Stars ⭐

Breaking Him is one of my biggest guilty pleasures. Having read this numerous times’, it's my go to when I need sweet, filthy and swoony. Because everyone needs to meet Elijah Hays at least once. A damaged cowboy from a backwater town that many fear, except Abigail Smith. In fact, she just wants to climb him...

Shouldering the responsibility of running a ranch alone, Abigail has grown dependent on the help her ranch hand Elijah provides. Although they're alone, Elijah is the kind of man that keeps to himself. A gentle giant with scars from a childhood that has left him closed off. And the fact that the townsfolk treat him like a monster doesn't help.

"I’d seen the lust-filled glances cast his way. Still, they kept their distance, would never dream of approaching him, frightened by his dark past, the gossip that surrounded him."

Except Abigail has never viewed Elijah as anything but hardworking and kind. Yet lately she finds herself lusting over him and it’s becoming clear that the feeling is mutual. However, Elijah is sexually inexperienced, and it will take Abigail to initiate their first real encounter. And when she does it's like lighting a match and watching it ignite.

"I just want to please you, Eli. Have you…have you thought about it, us together? Me, on my knees in front of you like this? I have."

He let out a ragged groan. "Yes, goddammit."

This would have to be one of the most decadent tales of sexual awakening you will read. What makes it unique is that it’s our heroine who is experienced and Elijah who wants to try everything. Their hunger and desperation leaps off the pages. In a small town filled with narrow minds and tradition, I love that Breaking Him goes against the grain.

"I can feel it, darlin’. You’re clutching me so tight, holding me inside. I’d stay there forever if I could, if you’d let me. I’d spend forever making you come like this, listening to your cries. So good, sweetheart. So perfect."

Hmm, this book started off as a strong one. But you know what my problem was near the end? Too much sex. Yes, I can't believe I said it but I said it. At the beginning we get a near rape scene where Elijah or as Abigail likes to call him, Eli saves her from the towns jerk. Eli and her have been stealing glances at each other here and there, but after that event Abigail has enough and on thing leats to another and she starts to see Eli in a whole new light. The same with Eli, till this moment all he had were dreams and imaginations of how it could be between them but now there is a real chance of something more and neither of them wants to get in the way of that. But of course, nothing goes as planned, especially since Eli has a horrible past that the towns people won't ever let him forget. And with that, all spotlight is on them. All the gossip, all the mistrust and all the insecurity just might tear them apart, even before they actually started. But as if that's not bad enough, Abigail's farm has some financial problems due the drough and the rain just won't come. So you could say these two have their plates full.

description

I have to say that I really enjoyed these two characters. They have personality and while I wished for Eli's POV, I get that that would take away the mistery that's Elijah Hays. Both do some stupid things but they also learn from them and that's what counts the most at the end, right? I really liked how protective both were of each other and that they didn't hide their feelings. They made the best that they could out of a bad situation and somehow it worked for them.
Now, unfortunatelly there were also some thing that bothered me. Like, the towns people. They knew what was going on with Eli when he was small and after he did what he did, they still judged him for no right reason. I was so mad reading about that. And the other reason why I couldn't enjoy the book fully is that near the end almost all pages were just sex. I get that the author wanted to evolve their relationship but there has to also be something that holds the plot together and lets the story breathe. I felt like all the sex scenes were unnecessary and some of them could be easily be left out.

All in all, this is not a bad book and while it's not perfect it's still an enjoyable quick read. So, go for it!

Omg where do I start! I can’t come up with the right words to explain how much I loved this book.
Abi might look like she has an edge, but she is so sweet, loyal and passionate. She is such a strong woman and doesn't take crap. Eli is the kind of hard ass Alpha that I love.
Abi is beautiful and Eli can't get her out of his head... But there's one problem, Eli grew up with no love from his parents and has a hard time with commitment. Plus, he’s the town’s outsider… Can Abi be the one to make his heart beat?
Eli and Abi are a great couple and they just heated up the pages of this book. I really liked them and felt they were perfect together. It is a fun, seriously hot book that is perfect to read after a tough day in the real world.
The sex scenes are brilliantly written - they are varied, passionate and fabulously kinky… full of lust and heavy emotions.
I was more than pleased with the development of the love story. It felt quite natural and had genuine emotion.
Definitely worth the read...

Weeeeelllll... that was A LOT OF SEX!! Yikes!!

Definitely a departure from my usual romances. It was like eating a kilo of dark chocolate in one sitting (did that once when I was little, gave me digestive problems for days).

BUT. It wasn’t all hot gratuitous sex. There was emotional connection. There was tenderness. I liked the heroine and I LOVED the Hero. Always had a soft spot for the name Eli for some reason. ESP. Since I r ad Dark Redemption by Aja James recently. Different sub genre, meltingly hot Hero.

I loved this Eli too. Strong, so thoroughly male. Innocent and sweet but in command, in control. Protective, sensitive, loving. WHAT ELSE CAN A GIRL ASK FOR?????

Highly recommend! (But I gotta detox the overdose of sex for a while before I read another book in this genre...)

Nitpick- don’t like the cover. Maybe I’m looking at it wrong but the guy doesn’t appeal... @.@

4.5 - "The sweetest ache I've ever felt." Stars!

One thing you can guarantee that Sherilee Gray will deliver on is the dirty in her books, and boy did she with Breaking Him. Although a quick read it was packed full of naughty, delicious sexy times, and a great story-line as well.

The innocent hero trope is one that isn’t used enough for me, but there is a fine line in getting it right when it is, and in that respect I would say that Elijah took to being with a woman, like a duck takes to water.

"Making you feel good, it’s all I want to do. I never want to stop."

In that the innocence in regards to his inexperience with women didn’t last very long at all before he was in full-on-alpha mode with Abigail. I didn’t mind it though, because the story of small town prejudice against a man that as a child should have been offered support and care, not judgement carried everything else along nicely.

"Don’t pity me, darlin’. I can’t take that, not from you…"

Abi, as a strong woman has managed on her own for a while now, but her connection with Elijah and the need to submit to him fills a gap in her life she never really realized was there. The emotions and feelings between them develop quickly as soon as they step outside of the employer/employee relationship, and I liked that the dynamic between them shifted as their connection deepened.

"I don’t know what this is, but I know I want it with you… Only with you."

As you can tell I really liked this book, the story doesn’t really offer up anything now or outstanding in relation to its contents, but the author as always kept things moving along steadily, with a likeable couple, the sexy times were plentiful, diverse and nicely dirtied up as it to be expected with the Scorched imprint, but it didn’t denigrate to cheesy-smut, which for me has been a sticking point with other releases from this line.

"I am the only man with the right to touch you, hold you, comfort you. Me. Only me"

Great beach read, holiday read, couple of hours in the evening read, and as always I will be eagerly awaiting to read whatever the author has in store for her readers next.

"Trust your instincts… That’s all you have to do."

This little story surprised the hell out of me!
A virgin hero becoming a dominant lover in a novella, unrealistic? Hell yes! Is it smutty? You bet! But between all the smut you have surprisingly much story and angst and the characters were well fleshed out in the span of 143 pages.

Elijah was a heart achingly sweet and broken man. His dominant side was scorching, likewise Abi was an accepting and lovely heroine. Loved this!

A male virgin cowboy!!!! Yes, that’s right a male virgin twenty something cowboy!!!!!! I practically don’t have to say anymore since I was already sold and practically inhaled this book in one sitting.

#BreakingHIm1

Sherilee Gray definitely knew how to wrangle and rope in her readers when she wrote this deliciously steamy erotic love story. Right off the opening pages, you will not want to put this book down. E-Readers will not only be one the heating up in this highly intoxicating erotic and sexy story. Who wouldn’t want to read about a lovable silent type cowboy that is ready to get D-I-R-T-Y?

 photo fef1c8930213183c636ffd63e35d3b_zpsbmf3fidj.gif “Elijah Hays was a man of few words, but his actions somehow did his talking for him. His tender ministrations felt right, perfect, and I edged closer, unable to help myself as he took care of me.”

Breaking Him chronicles the story of Abigail as she tries to keep her family’s ranch afloat after the passing of her father. Her father’s ranch hand, Elijah Hays, is the strong silent type who gets work done. He is a man of few words since in this small Montana town, they see Elijah as a monster.

Elijah is not a monster at all and Abigail knows that. She is the only one in town who sees the real Eli. A man who is protective and honest. Soon Abigail to see Eli in a whole new light after he protected her from an agressive date. It didn’t take long for Abigail to have sexual fantasies about Elijah. When Eli walks in during Abigail’s masturbation session, a sexual beast had awaken in Eli.

#BreakingHIm

As Abigail teaches Eli about oral sex, foreplay, and sex, Abigail knew that she couldn’t get enough of Eli. As they began to have their secret love session, readers began to see Eli in a whole new light. There was nothing hideous about this man. His heart was pure and he only wanted Abigail. You could say that he saved his virginity for her since she was the first person who made him feel alive and human. It was inevitable to keep their happy love bubble private especially living in a small town. As gossip and whirlwind of their romance began to spread like wildfire, will Elijah put an end to their relationship in order to save Abigail’s reputation? Or will Abigail show them that she doesn’t care what people think of their relationship?

 photo fef1c8930213183c636ffd63e35d3b_zpsbmf3fidj.gif “I had no idea what was happening between us, but right then it was like I was gasping for air, like I’d been deprived of oxygen. I needed it to survive, this thing between us— this thing only Elijah could give me. And deep down I knew he felt it, too.”

Breaking Him is a sexy, erotic romance that has heart!!! Sherilee Gray did an amazing job incorporating that Beauty and the Beast aspect in this story line. The important message to never judge a book by it’s cover holds true as readers got to see there is nothing hideous about Elijah Hays. The only monsters are those who judge a person without really knowing them. So if you are looking for a steamy, sexual read that was brimming with heat, love, passion, and heart then I would highly recommend you to read this scorching love story. All there is left to say go read and saddle up to Breaking Him. P.S. I think I found a new author to stalk. Haha.

It was short, so so very hot and sweet.
If you've ever read my reviews for short books, those three are often my "to go" descriptions for the ones I absolutely enjoyed. Because when the book is short, the author must be really good to be able to make it sweet and hot enough without making it cheesy.

I loved the quiet and intense hero; the fierce and strong heroine; the dance around and exporation of their kink...

Isabella, thank you again for bringing this gem to my radar and I will be definitely reading more by the author!

What a wonderfully sweet, charming book this was! And the feels! From the beginning to end you can just feel every word. I absolutely loved Abi and Eli. Eli is an outcast, a monster, and a recluse. Abi has lost her family and struggling to save her ranch. Eli was hired by her father before he died and she has been drawn to him from the first day he arrived. Their initial coming together was angsty and awkward, steamy and beautiful. Sounds crazy, right? It was perfect.

There is a lot of sex in this book. I could even go so far as to say this is a sex book. But the incredible thing about it is that each time this couple make love their relationship is evolving, the story is moving and the plot is expanding. Quite a talent to do that!

I loved this book and I’m so happy my Goodreads friends recommended it. Sorry it took so long to listen to you!

Damn that was good. I admit, I am a total sucker for the silent, intense men. The fact that the whole town thought Elijah was dangerous peaked my interest. Give me an H that barely talks and I need to know more. Of course, I don't want the man to truly be dangerous, at least not to woman. The fact that Elijah was actually a very good man underneath just made this story so much sweeter.

The author started this story off with me already needing to fan myself. Sherilee Gray sure knows how to write sexual attraction without over doing it. It was pretty intense at times. When you learn why Elijah is the way he is, it just breaks your heart and I wanted to hug him and then I wanted to blast that whole village of idiots.

I love it when an author can make a short story feel like I just got done reading a full length novel. That takes talent. I will definitely be reading more from this author.

4.5 hot and dirty stars

Once again Sherilee Gray has made me a happy reader, I inhaled Breaking Him in one sitting and I bloody loved it. If you want a fast, hot and dirty guilty pleasure read with a whole lot of alpha male this is one to read.

Elijah is the (small) town pariah after suffering horrific abuse and tragedy as a child, and works as a ranch hand for Abigail. Right off you can see there is something "more" between them, and Ms Gray doesn't mess about, the steamy action starts really early on. And what steam it was, phew. Is it hot in here???

Elijah, due to his tragic circumstances, is not too good with people and as such is still a virgin, not that this held him back in any way once he got going. He was sweet, tender, protective and so adoring of Abigail, and once he got his alpha male on he was up and running!

What I really liked is Abigail's quiet strength and unwavering support of Elijah. She wasn't swayed by the town bigots, and stood by her man so much so she would have left everything for him.

Elijah and Abigail make the cutest couple. I love that there was no shit for brains moments, no ex drama-rama and no ridiculous drama or angst. Don't get me wrong - I'm all about the angst in my reads but sometimes I need sweet and easy and I got that here, all wrapped up in a sweet little epilogue.

I received an Arc from the author for an honest review.

3.5-4 smutty stars!

So this was a lot smuttier than I expected. Kinda like a longer AR book with a bit more plot to it.
The storyline itself was alright, albeit oftentimes really unrealistic, but I can totally forgive that when the nookie is that hot and also... It's fiction, you guys! I'm fine with reading about a virgin H who's into light bdsm and goes for the butt nookie only after having cashed in his v-card a couple times before that. It's cool to read about a dirty talking virgin H who can get the h off by using his fingers even though it's his first time ever touching a woman. And why am I fine with such a unrealistic scenario? Cos it was FUCK HOT, that's why!

I can't believe I'm saying this... But...there were times.. When... Sigh.. Am I really saying this? Ok, here goes: sometimesthereweretoomuchsexthatiskimmedpartsofit.

Great short, smutty read! I'll definitely check out her other books.

OMG!!!!!! So hot!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Oh my god! This book! This book!
This is the way you write erotica. This book is what you want in a hot erotic read.
No extraneous chitchat. No need for extra detail or situations. Just straight forward hot anticipation, amazing character development, and a hot ass, spicy romance that leaves you panting and begging for more. You get the major feels for Eli. Holy smokes. Delicious! He has a few surprises up his sleeve!
This author knows how to write a hot erotic story. An amazing read that you will end up reading over and over.
You have to grab this book. It is just so damn good. If this is how the author writes all the time, I am grabbing more!
This shit right here is exactly why I love Goodreads so much. Thank you to the lovely ladies who put in the work with your awesome reviews and got me excited to read this.
Funny thing, though... I'm kinda more excited now that I've finished it. If you know what I mean.
This book is SMOKING hot. Like, holy hell. It's basically just sex with a sweet little plot thrown in. But you won't see me complaining. Every time Abi and Eli are together it just gets hotter and hotter. You gotta take breaks with this story, jee-zus.
If I say anymore I'm just gonna get downright dirty.
After reading all the rave reviews about this one having a well developed story and some hot poking, I picked it up.
Maybe I got a dodgy copy and the plot was hidden under all the cum. Because my version was just sex sex sex and that was about it after the 30% mark. I like a good lance lashing, but really that's all that happened, got to be boring.
I rarely ever read stories that have sexy, strutting cowboys but I'm glad I definitely read Breaking Him, because Eli knocked the boots right from under me! His sweet endearments, along with his dirty talking, had me squirming and shouting along with Abigail, “YES, YES, OH GOODNESS!!!”
The sexual tension between Eli and Abigail was right from the beginning, and I knew I was going to need a new pair or two of panties :-) Yet, as I started putting bits and pieces together of Eli's childhood, Breaking Him broke my heart. To see that he was nowhere close to being a monster had me rooting for him—knowing he would get his happiness.
Abigail knew Eli was different and she had the type of personality to bring out the wild side of Eli. Though there is a story of saving the farm that Abigail inherited and the horses Eli trains to make a profit for the farm, I loved that the main focus was their scorching hot relationship.
This was a fast read but VERY MEATY!! Totally glad I read it and I looked forward to reading more books with deliciously hot cowboys! ~ Kara, 4.5 stars
Turn down the thermostat, you won’t be cold anymore…
This quick read is hot, hot, hot!
Abigail was struggling with grief, drought and a ranch she refused to give up to the bank. Elijah was a bright spot in her day, in her life really. He was so quiet but he called to her like no one else. He was built like a Greek god and had a way with horses that made her weep. Me too! She ignored the whispers of her mistrusting small town neighbors and trusted her instincts instead.
“They were intimidated, scared of him. Even said he was dangerous. Not to his face.”
If you yearn for a slow burn than this is definitely not the story you are looking for. When Abigail and Eli come together the heat of their connection sears every corner. It’s intimate and personal, with exploration the key—and limits are something for other people. Even if you are inexperienced, the internet brings a world of information to your fingertips. And Eli puts his fingers to very good use. Whew, does he ever!
Of course, you can’t stay in bed (or barn or shower or…) forever and the problems they encounter are definitely not physical. Small towns have a unique way of doing things and being different is not the way to make yourself popular. I’ve never lived in one but the challenges both Eli and Abigail face seem real and, honestly, really small-minded considering the date on the calendar…
“I wanted to break through, break him – so I could put him back together piece by piece and make him whole again.”
I was a bit upset over some of Abigail’s choices—don’t hurt Eli, don’t do it!—but sometimes you have to live it and see the repercussions before you can do what’s right. And she managed to do that with style. With an epilogue that just made me smile, the ending could not have been more perfect. ~ Diane, 4 stars
