Hooker, Azzie, Erica and the rest all play cricket in their spare time, but they've never taken it very seriously until now. Kiddo, one of their school teachers, suggests they form an official team and play proper matches - and Glory Gardens C.C. is formed. Hooker, as captain, soon finds out that cricket teams weren't built in a day: some players squabble, some can't catch, and some have tantrums and go home at half-time! So will Glory Gardens go all out for victory . . . or will they be out for a duck?
A book about forming an under 11 cricket team that has some really good advice about cricket. It's interspersed with coaching and scoring tips which I thought a really good approach. I'd have loved this as a junior cricketer.
For juniors obsessed with the great game. Best suited to 10-13's I'd think. First in a series and plenty of potential. It's possibly a bit dated now in that references to players relate to the late 1990's and may not appeal as they once did.
I loved It. I had an really exciting time reading it. I liked the last game was very exciting. I was very surprised when Marty was out. Can't wait until the next book.😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
