Years into the Cold War, the space race was at its top! Many theories and different speculations were taking place; this book is a besutiful compilation of those. It offers poems of a great variety that are all imaginative and somewhat political. Although there were some grammatical mistakes (mostly excess commas and wrong capitalizations), I enjoyed the book immensely! The illustrations were mind blowing.
Honorable mentions:
*Technicians❤ (Jean Kenward): The magnificence of creation!
*Make Believe☄ (Gareth Owen): very imaginative. I love the comparisons!
*Shed in Space (Gareth Owen)
*Count Down👌🏻✌🏻👆🏻 (Julie Holder)
*A THE LUNCH / APOLLO (Stanley Cook): creative*
*MAN (?) (Stanley...): lovely😍
*The Eagle Has Landed🦅 (Adrian Rumble): I love how this takes yiu through the motions and puts you up to speed!
*Space Trip🚀 (James Kirkup) The Youth Soul :)! Very imaginative and lively.
*Aldrin Collins and Armstrong🛢
(Michael Rosen) Political and light! Loved it: the cycle of launching again and again and the notes beside it.
*Man and Height🕴🏛 (John Rice): This tackles the idea that people have different circles and standards of achievement. With great achievements, comes great loss as well. I love the ending and detailed description!
*Song in Space😢🌌 (Adrian Mitchell): 85% into the book, this was definitely still my favorite!
*The Ballad of Morgan the Moon (Max Boyce): love the rhyme! It's so smooth!
*Here is the News from space (Michael Rosen): just lol.
*Space Spot (Max Fatchen): love this version of Twinkle Twinkle. Surely it has a continuation?
*Rockets and Quasars🌏 (John Rice)
*The First Men on Mercury (Edwin Morgan): does this poem imply that the humans took over mercury slowly🤦🏻♀️? The وطاوة of the human race!
*Our Solar System (Eric Finny): "Well the solar system broke up pretty fast in my bus money you had gone for myself and I had to borrow." lol
*The Tenth Planet🌐 (Alan Bold): quite bold indeed! Rhymed so well and placed a new entity on the Earth, again mentioning the human's capacity to destroy for greed.
**My Thing from Outer Space (James Kirkup)
*^A Close Encounter👥 (Adrian Rumble): what happens if one was not afraid to discuss ideas with strangers?
*Space Joke? (Julie Holder) lmao deep.
*The Marrog (R.C.Scriven)
*On Some Other Planet👽 (John Rice): a nice poem for the lonely
*Space Men (Charles Connell): like the monkeys jumping on the bed😍

*Black Hole⚫ (Adrian Rumble): Amen.
*The Doomed Spaceman👩🚀 (Ted Walker): very melancholic.
*The Ark (Stanley Cook)
*Space thought (Derek Stuart) - No need to scan the skies (John Kitching): the mysteries of Earth outweigh everything! It is all with and within us.

*The Beautiful Strangers (James Kirkup): He just proved Santa Clause's an alien.
