While trying to decode the dreams he is being sent by aliens, psychic detective Jack Stein, kidnapped by agents of Outreach Industries who want to exploit his talent, is rescued by a woman named Billie who reveals that one of his friends is a traitor. Original.

The gripping conclusion to the continuing adventures of PI (Psychic Investigator) Jack Stein.
I enjoyed the tale, but I think someone unfamiliar with the previous book (The Star Tablet) might be initially confused by some the pre-established relationships the main characters have. The story stood on its own, but I think a little more back-story would have helped to explain what was going on.
Overall, I liked the book, although I was disappointed by the ending. It built up to something wonderful and great, and kind of fizzled out for me.
The last in the series, this comes to a rather unsatisfying ending: what the aliens have been trying to tell Jack Stein all along is that an unstoppable enemy is coming, the same one that destroyed the aliens' civilization centuries ago. That's it. There are some machinations by a powerful corporation that put Jack and his friends in danger, but they survive. No idea whether there are any more books about these people, and I'm not inclined to look.

The quick review on the back of these books must be good because this is the second book in this series that I've picked up but I still don't like it. I'l try not to pick up any more!
