I was born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario where I attended Saltfleet High School and McMaster University. I've spent most of my life fighting for the little guy in one form or another, advocating for the poor, for environmental sustainability, for minority rights.
Throughout my twenties, I wrote about five novels and threw them all out because they weren't very good. But I improved and honed my skills with each new manuscript. About two years ago, I had an offer from a traditional publishing house, but I chose to go indie instead. Writing is my passion; if I could dedicate myself to one thing, it would be bringing the ideas in my head to life.
This is my third read of a book by this author, all in this series. I enjoyed the first two books in the series slightly more than I did this one.I never troll an author for a few grammatical errors. I make them myself. To rate the book poorly for that reason would exhibity hypocrsy. The reason I lowered my rating by one star in regard to this story derived from the story itself. I like juxtapositioning characters, playing them off one against the other but when a book involves as many characters as are featured in this book it is too easy to get lost in minutiae. This has all the features I liked in the first two but is not quite what those books were in quality. So I like the book. I really like some of the characters but the story itself was, somewhat lacking. I hope the fourth in this series can pick up the threads of the first two. I look forward to the read.
There were fewer grammar/spelling mistakes than in book 2, but there were still several. Any are inexcusable! After reading 3 books, the author has chosen to track his characters' interrelationships, value conflicts, self worth, what they wear, how they've done their hair at the beginning of every scene: black pants/skirt with a tshirt usually grey and once blue with lace. Every scene! I DON'T CARE! There were action scenes every now and then but far too few. The author also has them s!aping themselves in the face alot: a fist to the mouth, slap to the forehead, palm to the nose slipping fingers through the hair. I don't know anyone that does that. Maybe it's regional. I won't be buying a 4th book.
