It appears we know much more about ancient Sumeria than I thought we did! This was an interesting read and a great starting point to learning about one of the oldest civilizations that we know of.

Additional small non-fiction picture books are my favorite to add with whatever topic I am teaching my sixth grader. Most have that little bit extra information that was not present in our textbook or at least clarifies something better. While being a nice resource, I didn't get any additional information or clarification about life in Sumer than what was already presented in the schoolbook. However, the chapter in our textbook was exceptionally informative. If your children's or student's text book is lacking then this would be a good bit of information to make up what is missing.
