Illusion

Rate this book
Dinorah Winthrop is a good girl, one who does things right. Her life is all planned out. She will attend Columbia University and make films which will change the world. Or that was true until the night the gunman opened fire on her and her friends.

Dinorah wakes up the next morning in a life she does not recognize. Everyone knows who she is, or think they do. The girl they know though, is a slacker, someone who doesn't have a creative bone in her body. She tries to explain that something is wrong, until she begins to forget her old life.

Dinorah finds people she's certain she knows, but can't remember. Kara, Jonah, Piper, Brett, they're all a part of every life she lives, though in very different roles.

But the truth starts to come back and Dinorah begins to realize the life she woke up in is all an illusion meant to break her. She has no idea who would do such a thing to her, or why. If she can remember the truth, she might be able to fight her way free of the illusions.

But the gunman and the person who hired him are still around. Can Dinorah and her friends figure the mystery out before too many losses strike them down? What is real and what is illusion. Help Dinorah figure it out before it's too late.

I thought I had an idea of what I was getting into when I decided to read this book. However, I never expected it would mess with my mind the way it did.

We know from the blurb that Dinorah (I love the name by the way) has been shot but we don't know why and mostly how she wakes up the next morning like nothing happened. It gets even weirder when it changes later on. Sadly, I can't say more at the risk of spoilers. There are plenty of twists and turns so hold on to your hat (if you wear one) because you just might lose it as you read.
