I really like the other books by this author so I thought the daily devotional by him would be really good. It was good. It was just a bunch of excerpts from the other books he's written. I liked how it reminded me of bits of the other books that I had forgotten.
The final post/book of #ZackReads2019! Cue all the jokes about this one “taking a whole year to read.” In 2018 I discovered the daily devotional genre with New Morning Mercies: A Daily Gospel Devotional, and last year I was thrilled to find that John Eldredge, author of Wild at Heart: Discovering the Secret of a Man's Soul and others, had put together a book called KNOWING THE HEART OF GOD that combines a verse with a reflection for each day of the year. . There were a couple days where I lost track and had to catch up later, but for the most part 2019 was marked by daily excursions into the Word and reminders of the epic adventure, battle, and romance into which God has invited us. I would be THRILLED to let anyone who wants to use this book in 2020 borrow it; just let me know! . #dailydevotional #Jesusbooks #journaling #CoffeeAndTheWord
Mar 30 'women need to give up their need to control to be happy' ?????????? Mar 31 Mary Magdalene was NOT a prostitute. (Ironically? read on Easter where MY church rightfully gave her credit for her huge role in spreading the story.)
