About the author

I was born in Manly on the Northern Beaches in Sydney, Australia and grew up in the west after we moved there to help my brother’s eczema which was made worse by salt air. I now reside in the beautiful sunny state of Queensland.

My dad had the biggest impact on my life. I have always had an overactive imagination and would often tell him stories which floated in my mind. He encouraged me to put pen to paper convinced that one day they would become published books.

Apart from marrying the love of my life, the highlight of my life was being accepted into Nursing just before my 16th birthday. It had been a long-time dream and one which encompassed 37 years of my life. Along with nursing, being married to a Naval Officer for almost 47 years, and posted in numerous places, gave me experiences which I have written into many of my books.

We enjoy traveling the country with our Caravan/RV, and Jack Russell puppy by the name of Gemma who will be joining us.

As my parents were British, never Australian citizens, I hold dual citizenship and we plan to take advantage of this to spend two years traveling the UK and Europe in the near future. It will also give me the opportunity to catch up with many family members who reside in England.

My books are in various genres - Western Historical Romance-both steamy and sweet, Contemporary Romance-steamy and sweet, Male/Male, Australian Outback and City Romance. I also have one menage and one paranormal romance along with two children's books. As I said earlier, I have a rather overactive imagination.

I hope you will pick up one of my books and when you close the cover on one of my stories it will be with a satisfied sigh.

This story of A.L Simpson once again didn't disappoint. She certainly knows how to pull the reader into a story quickly.
Avery is an average young woman in her early twenties who is just starting out in her accounting career when someone evil takes advantage of her and then the blackmail begins.
She meets Gabe, who is a police officer, and he is determined to solve his sister's murder.
The chemistry between the two leading characters is instantly flammable and the flames continue to burn brightly with raw passion as the story progresses.
This author truly knows how to build character descriptions so you, the reader, come to identify with them. Not just the 'good' characters but the evil ones too.
If there was a little more meat or intrigue I would have given it 4 stars or more. However the suspense in the story is nicely paced as is the whole story. It is a lighter story which is easy and quick to read and it deals with very heavy topics.

Avery has been blackmailed by the strip club owner she hates working there but doesn't have a choice he will post online fake pictures of her and tell everyone not to hire her. Avery ends up having the police show up to her apartment and tell her something awful has happened. One day Gabe goes to Avery to find out information. Will Avery be able to be safe and finally be loved? Will Gabe be able to solve what he needs for his family? Another well written book by Ms Simpson.
Avery is caught up in a world she doesn't belong in and being blackmailed is keeping her there. A murder connects her with a police officer. Will he save her from this horrid lifestyle?
It was a fast paced novel with drama, heart stopping moments and plenty of sizzle. You'll be invested in the characters hoping for a safe and happy outcome.

This was my first AL Simpson book and I can say it will not be my last
Blackmail had me hooked from the first page, right up until the last page
The chemistry between Avery and Gabe was electric and you could feel their heat. The story was intriguing and suspenseful and there was definitely a good sexy sizzle factor.
I cannot wait to read more from AL Simpson
