The Third World War

Rate this book
NOTE, this is NOT a politically correct novel. Near the end of the current President's term, China and Russia decide the time will never be better to take down America. They know the current administration has run down and demoralized the military. Half of American navy's mighty aircraft carriers are in out of service for repairs, the Army is the smallest it's been eighty years. The average age of the US Air Force fighters is over 25 years old. The AF is down to less than 100 nuclear bombers from a high of 600. Their war plan, Operation Whirlpool was to launch a surprise nuclear attack to knock out America. War usually plans end up in the trashbin when the enemy is engaged. Operation Whirlpool ran into an unexpected situation. The American’s weren’t as surprised as the Chinese and Russians thought. A US Navy attack submarine stumbled upon the Russian and Chinese SSBN’s sneaking up on the American coast. When the first missiles fly, the world explodes in war as old hatreds flare up. The story is told by a Russian historian who was selected by the Russian President to record the shortest war in history, which will leave Russia ruling the surviving world.

Excellent short story

Very good and easy read, lots of detail and whole ideas is frightening realistic, rather to close for comfort.
Have read one of his other series, ( We knew they were coming ) which is rather good if you are a sci-fi fan. His writing style is quite unique as it helps mentally picture the book which I like. Definitely in my top 25 books.

Great read. Although a work of fiction, much of What in the book could very well happen as our world today is spinning out of control.

A bit disjointed but worth a read

A chillingly plausible tale which moved along with a pace. I enjoyed the big picture aspects which were rather undermined by the boy's own tale of our submarine and its captain.

The book is compelling. Its writing style leans more toward non-fiction than fiction, even when the author attempts to add human elements to the narrative. I found the beginning discouraging, but it improves after the first two chapters, once the author reveals a deep knowledge of the detailed aspects of nuclear techno-warfare. After getting through the initial chapters, the book becomes truly engaging.

The subject matter is terrifying. A global nuclear war represents the closest humanity—and life on Earth—could come to an extinction-level event, occurring almost instantaneously.

This is a book I hope decision-makers in military affairs will read. It vividly brings to life the horrors of a global nuclear exchange—something that must be avoided at nearly any cost. While there are many potential paths to such a conflict, the book’s premise—that two presidents might simultaneously descend into delusion—feels highly unrealistic.

However, crafting a realistic scenario is not necessarily the goal of fiction. In this case, I believe the aim is to illustrate just how much of humanity’s future rests in the hands of flawed leaders, unreliable systems, and poorly understood geopolitical dynamics.

To other readers, I would say: read this book as a sobering reminder that we must all work toward global peace, rational cooperation, and shared security—before it is too late to safeguard God’s creation.

Not Worth The Time

This book is a hack job, pandering to political issues, attempting to make his point of view, and very obvious about it. PC with WWIII, you have got to be kidding.

It was written very poorly, in my opinion, bent towards the authors opinion, which is his right. This is a very odd book, to say the least, I have one consolation, it cost me nothing to read, and very little time, since it was so shallowly written.

For the sake anyone contemplating actually purchasing this read, I caution against it.

A fascinating subject

I enjoyed the story line and progression of events. I didn't much care for the "right wing bias" and comments insulting to a previous President. For a second I thought Trump wrote this story😀

Interesting

Not a bad read but still too many mistakes and the treatment of President Obama is bordering on childishness. The plot is ok but too many jumps over major events that barely get a mention. Still worth a read, wallpaper for the mind.

Holy hell

This is a bigoted and terribly written book. What is funny he tries to link Obama to the bad president and he ends up making it look like what trump actually turned out to be.

This story was very plausible

This story describes the men with the worse of men of history. Willing to kill billions of people for their own means to an end. It seems impossible that men like this exist but they most certainly do.

A must read

What a refreshing read. Anyone who embraces this nonsense woke culture needs to read this to understand just where it's going to lead. Many thanks for your work Ira.

Go Ahead and read it

Not well backed up. For example, "Ghost Fleet" is extensively documented and has been supported by as a credible scenario by military expert. This is not, but heck its easy, scary and contains some interesting nuggets.

Totally different WWIII book

This is a fast moving plausible readable novel. Remember D-Day was 6 June 1944, I think there was an error in printing. That aside it is very plausible highly readable book set in "our time". A fun read!

A basic nuclear war story with the addition that the author clearly sees Obama as an incompetent fool. I read it on my kindle during a business trip. Was a quick easy read and nominally entertaining.

Quick read

Moderately enjoyable quick read. The authors view of the Obama administration is good for a laugh as it's completely off the wall.

Worst book...ever

Generous to even call it a book...more like a polemic a fifth grade boy would write...just appallingly juvenile and sophomoric.
