Newspaper reporter Dana Chandler's life is full of "big brothers" without a romantic notion in the bunch. She's watched Alan Richards from across the courtroom for years, admiring him first as a prosecutor for three years then as a judge for the past year. In fact, she spends more time at the courthouse than her office. He's compassionate but thorough, fair but strict. Feared by criminals, he seeks justice for victims of violent crime, a fact she appreciates for her own reasons.
When an old friend is accused of murder, Dana believes he's been set up. She won't allow that to be done to an innocent man, especially the one who saved her life years ago, but the case reminds her of how much she hates puzzles. Then help comes from unexpected quarters, including the judge she's long admired. That's all she needs - another "big brother."
Superior Court Judge Alan Richards knows nothing about his unidentified observer. Not even her name. She's been his constant, at least in the courtroom, for four years, but he still doesn't know anything about her. Finally, God opens the door for them to meet.
As the danger for Dana grows, Alan devises an unconventional plan....
Dawn loves to write Christian romance, suspense, and women's fiction, as well as fantasy with a Christian worldview. She took first place in the Contemporary Romance category, as well as winning the Grand Prize, in the Writers On the Storm Category Five writing competition. She lives in the high desert of Southern Arizona with her husband of 20 years and a variety of critters, furred and feathered. Besides writing and spending time with friends, she enjoys crochet, photography, scrapbooking, spinning yarn from wool and alpaca, and lots and lots of reading.
A firm story that confronted real evil and yet left a Christian example for each who read it. The prayers were full of truth and willingness to change.
Although I liked this book, I did find the way the judge decided to protect Dana a bit far fetched. I think other options were available and more appropriate. That said, after I got past the outlandish solution, I enjoyed the story.
Another complaint I had was that there were so many characters. I had a difficult time keeping all the men straight and how they were connected to Dana.
Well written and nicely developed characters. It is a page turner. The author also reminds us we might be surprised if we knew what lies just below the surface of the people around us. Also the reader is taken through the heartbreaking struggle of Dana as she reclaims her life by God's grace and the God honoring people he places in her life.
What a brave and determined young Lady who had experienced a terrible rape beating and stabbing. Who had her faith in God who bought wonderful people into her life. Dana fell in love with Alan who helped with believing and turning everything over to God. There were many people who showed her love and was there during her awful time to make sure every one who did her wrong would pay. Faith was strong throughout entire book
The reviews on this book were very good, and it was a freebie. I, however, thought the plot was too drawn out, had too many strands to it, and wasn't developed very thoroughly. I had a problem with the relationship between the two main characters too. So much of the action was contrived--just not very realistic. In addition, there were so many characters that I had trouble keeping up with them.
You hear of courtroom drama, and this was a very different story. A judge is intrigue with a young woman who slips into the courtroom, and just as quickly disappears. With the thought of flying terrorizes her, cell phones are not for her. When she tries to help a friend, things back fire and she is threatened, the judge has a solution will she go for it. The characters were good, especially Dana.
It's not really a suspense story. There's only one part in the last half that has major action, and it is short-lived. It's really a romance of two people that have watched each other for four years before they finally meet and then the development of a relationship/marriage under difficult circumstances with character development and growth in Christ.
If you're looking for a good, clean Christian novel, Dawn Turner delivered a success with Keep Her. Loved the flow of learning each character's history/relationship with the main character and how it all unfolded when faith and trust abounded.
A rather childlike female reporter who behaves impulsively, constantly throwing tantrums over relatively petty issues is deeply attracted to a judge. He is equally attracted to her, not minding her immature behaviour. Rape at a very young age had a detrimental effect on her development.
What can I say more than Wao, I never imagined that a Christian novel was so intense, romantic and had humor in it, it has all that and more.
It teaches us that we must trust in God for everything and that we should never doubt that he has a plan for us and that with his help we can get ahead of everything life puts in our path.
This is a Christian romance. I appreciate that it is realistic about the man's struggles to wait until she is ready to take things further at each step. I wonder about the immediacy of God's answers to their prayers. No time to think it through or let it soak in. Just ask a prayerful question and get an immediate answer.
Keep Her is the first book that I have read by Dawn M Turner and it will most definitely not be the last! Keep Her kept me on my toes turning pages and loving every minute of reading! I loved this book. It had funny things that made me laugh, sad things and emotions that made me be part of the book! ❤️
After just a few pages I was drawn into a well written story. It didn’t take long to become a part of the story. Not unlike life the story carries one through the many emotions very rapidly. To say I enjoyed it doesn’t seem to be as honest as I felt a part of it. To leave it at the end is loss. Thanks for allowing me to enter in!
A thought provoking story that will have you examining your walk with our Lord and savior. Do we ask for guidance and direction as often as we should? Do we trust as we should? Simple questions the characters asked and how they achieved their peace. An afternoon well spent.
Masterfully written story with humor, suspense and romance. Christian theme throughout the book but also deals with crime and social issues. Couldn't put it down.
This was such a great book. From beginning to end I was hooked and didn't want to put it down. I hate that it ended. I fell in love with the characters and I want to see how things continue to go.
Kept me interested from start to finish. Would have liked the content to continue. Enjoyed all the different characters. This was certainly a different, enjoyable story. GOD Bless!!!
This was such an inspirational book. The parts where there is dialogue with God truly touched me. Parts brought tears to my eyes. Even non believers will enjoy and benefit by reading this book.
I give this book a five-star rating. It had love, intrigue, surprises., and all other emotions one could think off. Prayer was involved, the best way to commune with our heavenly father!!
This is a wonderful story of how God can heal even after the most traumatic experience. My only disappoint ment was not finding the fu!l story about the initial murder and the final trial and punishment.
Yeah. Don’t even ask what number this makes that I have read this fabulous book. I love everything about Keep Her. I love the characters, the storyline, the suspense, and watching the characters grow in their Christian walk.
Fabulous read...loved the characters, plot, and everything. Would recommend. Have downloaded another by the same author, and will look for more by her.
