Pleasing a man is something former mistress Genevieve Ralston does very well. But after her lover callously dumps her, she's definitely off men ... until she meets Simon! He's brooding. Sexy. And she can't keep her hands off him ...
But Simon Cooperstone, Viscount Kilburn, is a spy. His mission: retrieve a mysterious letter in Genevieve's possession. Intent on seducing her secrets from her, he forgets to guard one thing: his heart.
Each stroke of Genevieve's talented fingers unleashes his deepest desires. Too late, he realizes that while he may be a master of the art of seduction, he's no match for a sensual mistress ...
Jacquie D'Alessandro grew up on Long Island and fell in love with romance at an early age. She dreamed of being swept away by a dashing rogue riding a spirited stallion. When Joe, her hero finally showed up, he was dressed in jeans and driving a Volkswagen, but she recognized him anyway. They married after they both graduated from Hofstra University, and are now living their happily-ever-after in Atlanta, Georgia, along with their very bright and active son, Christopher, alias "Junior", who is a dashing rogue in the making.
Here's a quickie review of Touch Me from Penelope's Romance Reviews....
Touch Me by Jacquie D'Alessandro.
Don't you love it when an author takes a secondary character from one of your favorite books (Genevieve from Love And The Single Heiress) and gives her her very own story? I must admit that I was worried about Genevieve after the conclusion of LATSH...Catherine and Andrew found true love, but poor Genevieve was left behind, struggling with her arthritic hands and pining for her lost love. I wanted her to have a HEA, too, damn it! Well, thank you Jacquie D'Alessandro for making all of my dreams come true! Genevieve gets her own story, and of course her own HEA, and my only criticism is that the book should have been longer. When Simon kisses Genevieve's swollen hands and tells her how beautiful she is...well, hell, I started crying. And now, I'm worried about Baxter...I sure hope he gets his HEA, too! By the way, this was my first Harlequin ever! That's right, I was a Harly virgin, but no longer. Grade: A-
Ha estado muy bien la historia, pero le faltaba algo para engancharme...aunque la trama amorosa en general ha sido muy bonita y también demasiado rápida.
Regency romance with sex. This should technically be the final book in her Regency series. However, she wrote this for Harlequin Blaze (historicals)so it's really a long novella.
This is Genevieve's story. We met her in "Love And The Single heiress" as Catherine's friend with the arthritis in her hands. She'd been cast off by her Earl lover because of their deformity & she wrote a book with Catherine's help about love & sex.
Simon is an agent for the Crown who needs to clear his name. He's accused of murdering Gen's Earl & needs to find a letter the Earl sent to Gen.
Since it's a Harlequin it's very short & moves quickly to the sex & romance. If that doesn't bother you, than you should like this story.
I am typically so turned off by stories involving "experienced" ladies because the hero in some way makes her feel like a cheap whore for having being a mistress or a kept woman. Usually it involves some degree of shame on her part and the hero looks down on her. I didn't really get that in this story and for that reason it was refreshing. I just assumed I disliked stories with courtesans and now, thanks to this fairly enjoyable book, I realize what it was.
3.5 stars, really. How sweet! It brought me to tears at some points - how heart-rending & romantic. When Simon make love to Genevieve's "unsightly" hands ... *sigh*
(I actually read this as part of the Blaze Historicals Bundle II.)
Wonderful book. Sweet, touching, romantic, funny. Wonderful H/h. Even though both we're keeping secrets, there was no silly misunderstandings between them to bog down the book. Great ending. Loved it!
