Milly is dying. It's Davey's final chance to sit by her side and reminisce on the life they shared together. But there's something about Milly's final moments that not only shudder Davey, but the entire hospital ward.
This book contained one sort story, "One Day" and also the intro to a second, "Breakfast with You." One Day was the touching story of an elder couple. The wife is dying and the husband is struggling with saying good-by. They are being cared for by a hospice nurse who assesses her life choices as she listens to the reliving of their own lives together. I do not wish to give away any surprises, but suffice it to say that there are some in store. Interesting and touching. The intro to Breakfast with You did not appeal. Perhaps it, too, contains some interesting twists and turns. I did not, however, feel compelled to pursue this book. The female main character was a weak, controlled bimbo and the male character was self centered and controlling. Not my cup of tea.
Quick 5 minute read. The ending is obvious and just lacked any story. The the beginning of Breakfast With You sorry not my cup of tea. A woman who doesn't have the balls to tell her arrogant boyfriend to go to hell
Very, very quick read. I didn't expect it to end the way it did. (The very last paragraph, I mean, the elderly woman passing away was definitely foretold)
