Determined to explore a love so strong that it is unbreakable, he goes after her. But, while fighting through the woman's barriers around her heart, can Saxton prove that he will love her and someone else's unborn child?
OMG! This book had me on an emotional rollercoaster. I really despised Errick. I wanted to stab him in the throat with a spork. I really liked that Rachel was a strong woman. She really had to endure a lot. Then along comes Saxon. Umm, umm, good. That's all that I am going to say about him. But I will say this, you have to read this book. The author knocked it out of the park with this one.
I enjoyed the book. But why, Keairnon, tho. I mean why not Natalie. plus where was the epilogue. I mean I need an update. it was good. Oh, Saxon is all that and more
This story had me in my feeling from the start until it ended. It was emotional, and amazing. I'll admit a few times I cried. If you aren't ready for an emotionally charged novel then stop now.. But if you do, you'll miss one of the most intriguing books for this year. Rachel was a big girl and a dedicated teacher. She was engaged to a man with a five-year plan. When Rachel came home and told him they were expecting, he freaked all the way out... He called their baby ' It'. When Rachel refused his demand, Errick left and moved to Phoenix.. He had the correct name because he errked me to no end. A few weeks later Rachel met Sax Carmichael, as he was picking up his niece. Rachel was her teacher. Then at her doctors appoint she saw Sax again. Sax was an OBGyn doctor in practice with Rachel's doctor. From there the relationship began after a minor accident at his sister's home. Sax became the man in her life, the one she could depend on. They grew into their love and support of one another. After the baby was born, Sax and Rachel married. On Kerions first birthday party Errick returned claiming to still love Rachel. Over the next few months Errick realized his mistake and tried to ingratiate himself into his daughter's life. I was so happy Rachel loved Sax enough to stay with his realness. My heart broke with the way their daughter's situation turned out. In the end that event catapulted both families to being better people.. This book was one of the most amazing books I've read in a while. 5 Star!!
This was a good read. Rachel man, dang she was going through a lot!!! Im glad Saxon came through for her bc Erick was just doing her all the way wrong. I kind of understood his five year plan but hey you don't suit up then look at what happens!! Wow!! A great ending to a great book!!
I thought the book was a great drama and I loved how Saxton stepped up to the plate. He seemed like a stand up guy. There is only two things that I wanted to point out.
One: The book cover did not match the actual discription of the characters. Saxton was a biracial mixed with Irish and the woman was supposed to be also different based on her weight and hair. The book cover needs to match the characers. That is one thing about urban drama books that I do not like how they just throw up any picture as a book cover.
Two: There was a scene where Saxton was at a bar with another woman laughing and her baby daddy took a picture of him as if he was cheating. The scene never played out making it a missing plot. That part of the story was never told. Overall, the book was good and I give it a 90%.
My first by KR, loved it! Eric was a hot mess and needed to be b*tch slapped with the baby powder for the way he carried on. But what did he learn? One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. And treasure she was to Saxton! I love how he stepped in and loved her and everything she came with! I loved how unified they were when it came to Eric and when there was room for doubt, they both gave each other the reassurance to not let it grow past a thought. Eric had a lot of nerve and audacity and in the end he slightly redeemed himself to me.
This first time reading anything by this author..Had very minor errors but great book..can't believe the outcome of this story...glad they all grown up and learn how to forgive..Sad baby girl had to gone for them to all act like adults..Great book!! I really enjoyed the ending!!
This ebook was a hidden gem in spite of a couple of typos. A guy leaves his fiancé because she won't terminate an unexpected pregnancy; When she moves on the guy comes back and drama unfolds. I was so deep into this book that it was really hard to put down; the ending did not disappoint me at all.
I really enjoyed this book. It's definitely a must read. I recommend everyone reads it. I was pissed off with some of the characters but it was great. I really wasn't prepared for some parts of this book...I cried and laughed...Great job Kendra...
This book was simply amazing!! I loved it from beginning to end. I could not put it down!! It wasn’t as predictable as a lot of books nowadays!! Can’t wait to read more from this author!!
I really enjoyed this book it had me in my feelings but it was a wonderful story about love and the power of forgiveness. I did not expect for something to happen or for it to end that way but I’m glad it did.
I absolutely loved it! At first i was a little unsure... it was definitely something different compared to what i usually read but i love it. Will definitely be checking out more from this author.
I’m not a crier but this one was a doozy. The author took me through all the emotions. Angry, happy and sad. I’m so glad Rachel and Saxon found each other. I was so angry at Errick, but the author did a good job redeeming him.
This story covers laughter, anger, suspense, sadness. For me I enjoyed it, some explanations were omitted, but overall it was a good read for me. I was hurt about Kiernon, and I wanted Natalie totally gone.
Even though there were sad events in this book, the story was very heartwarming. I loved the relationships that were built. Rachel had an amazing rapport with her ex's parents. And her new beau and family joined the love. I loved how everyone supported Rachel, without judgement which led to an amazing world for Kiernon to learn and love. Saxon was just awesome and I'm glad Rachel saw his worth despite how Errick treated her. This story was heartfelt. I hated the tragedy that occurred but look what they made of it! Loved this book and highly recommend it. Well done.
I pushed myself to finish this book but I can't say that I would ever recommend it to someone. It was predictable from start to end except for the random tragedy that happens close to the end. I was surprised by how a few of the characters reacted to the tragedy but the reactions also made me roll my eyes. The "character development" for Errick felt rushed and fake. The development of Dr. Dreamboat just never happened, it felt as if he was stuck in the "perfect" gear the whole time. Kiernon may have been the only one to develop from a bump to a toddler and that's what kept me invested in the story. I appreciate that forgiveness and redemption felt to be the IN YOUR FACE theme of the novel but there are probably other ways that the story could have shown that. I didn't need to be reminded of it every chapter. I also didn't need that random tragedy at the end, wtf was that about? It felt like the narrative climax that came wayyy too late. Besides all of those critiques, the story was okay. I liked the protagonist and wished her the best throughout the story. I also liked that this story was mostly positive albeit too fluffy.
Wow! This book started off with so much love and passion, I quickly wondered how Rachel and Errick would find their way back to each other. I loved how the author was consistent in the characters truth, too often characters are a bit wishy washy but not Errick. Errick was convicted in his feelings and he stood by what he knew to be true. Rachel's journey was something to enjoy! There were certainly ebbs and flows within her story and to see her prevail was truly a wonderful journey to experience. All hail Saxon Carmichael!! What the love of a great man won't do?! Love is pure, love is kind, love is truly unconditionally and Saxon was All That!!
I had so many emotions reading this book, and that's what I look for in a great read.
Kendra Reeves will have me reading more of her books in the very near future. Amazing story, just amazing!
I read this book in one sitting, it was just that good. While reading Rachel’s story I was living it with her, I was definitely on an emotional roller coaster. In the beginning I didn’t like Errick for the way he did Rachel; I didn’t want him to even have a chance with his child. I eventually started feeling bad for Errick and, wanted him to get visitation rights (no child should be kept away from a parent). The way he went about things were wrong but, he soon figured it out once he saw Kiernon. Once Kiernon got sick, I started feeling bad for Errick because he had just got her in his life. Rachel was a very strong woman considering all she went through. I was shocked but happy that Rachel and Saxon allowed Errick to be their child’s Godfather, I became very emotional.
Rachel and Errick was engaged to get married, they created a five-year plan. Things changed when Rachel learned that she is pregnant. Errick receives a promotion at his job, but he does not get a chance to tell Rachel. After learning about Rachel’s pregnancy, Errick becomes afraid and tells Rachel to get rid of the baby. Errick is so afraid of being a dad, he leaves Rachel without telling her. Saxon runs into Rachel several times and finds himself attracted to her. It takes a real man to be a daddy. Awesome job with this book.
After being devastated and heartbroken by her fiance, Rachel is forced to move on with her life, even if that wasn't part of the five year plan. Saxon comes along and Rachel realizes that she can love again. Errick, doesn't realize until it's to late that his selfish ways cost him so much more then he realized. This was a good book, my first read as by this author. I was pleasantly pleased, and a little heartbroken at the same time.
Books like this make me question my relationship with Jesus. Ain't no way in the world things would have ended like that with me and that BRAT, Errick. And plus Errick is now with that fruitcake, Natalie. Ok, I got that off my chest. The book was a good read. Saxon was a good good dude. I'm so glad everyone in Rachel's life didn't allow her to push Saxon away because she was scared. I liked the closeness of the families.
This book had it ALL! Love, heartbreak, romance, new love, and then DRAMA. I must admit I hated Errick for what he did and how he tried to come back years later. I was rooting on Rachel to tell him where to go. But SAXON changed my mind the same way he did Rachel. Saxon is the PERFECT guy hands down. I glad Rachel ans Saxon got their happily ever after though.

I was recommended to read this book and I'm so glad that I did. So many emotions wedged reading this. The grass is greener on the other side, sometimes you can't go back, and God has a plan for everything. If you want to read a good book by a talented author that is not urban street lit and has a different feel this is it.great job
I will admit that I had some reservations starting out with this story. I wanted to choke Errick but Saxon saved the day!! Rachel is my shero! The love and support demonstrated by Errick and Saxon's for Rachel was amazing! This story had some unexpected twists & turns with a sweet ending. Nice job Ms. Reeves!
This was my first read from this Author & This book was so good. I cannot stop crying about what happened. So glad everybody came togetha & errick stepped up to the plate, since most of the time, I wanted to reach thru the book and choke his a** out. I love Saxon & Rachel. Paul & Anna was so good to Rachel.
This book was just awesome, I got mad, I cried, I laughed, and I smiled. Those were some of the emotions I experienced while reading this book, it was great. Saxon was simply delicious and a man to be admired and Rachel I love her..the other characters were just as great and their chemistry was just awesome. I definitely recommend this book.
