Sorry for the delayed review -- I don't really have time to be active on Goodreads. This is, of course, a series I've been following for a long time. And while Volume 9 doesn't end anything, I can see a transition. The girls of Hidamari have always been strong, but in between jokes we can see the emotional hearts in full blossom -- especially their courage in pursuing the lives they desire, whether it is pursuing their artistic dreams, or their borderline-romantic connections. There are some emotionally potent scenes here. This mix of the absurdly comic anf the truly emtoional is why I love this series.

I completely forgot I never finished this series despite owning it. There were several pun jokes in here that kind of fell flat in translation, but the rest was as adorable as usual.
